 Jeff at Knebworth
Its just been confirmed by Jackie of the Queen fan club, (although rumours have been abounding) that Jeff is doing an acoustic set with Spike Edney and Jamie Moses at Knebworth park to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Queens last live performance on Sunday the 8th August.
I am a little reluctant to announce my excitement as the last twice I did the events were cancelled' However I am hoping this is third time lucky and, if it is anything like Jeff's previous Queen sets it should be one hell of a show! Yay!!! Will I be there? No prizes for guessing!

Here's more info provided by Richard Mace/JSS Promotions and Jacky of the Queen Fan Club:
QUEEN ROCK MAGIC EXHIBITION
Jeff will be performing an acoustic Queen set with Jamie Moses and Spike Edney at the following event. For tickets email Jacky at the Queen Fan Club qfc@queenworld.com
"We are planning to have a "launch picnic" in Knebworth Park on Sunday August 8th, (the 9th is of course the 25th anniversary of that legendary show!) and everyone is welcome. Turn up from midday onwards with your picnic, your drinks, and, if you have one, your own gazebo/shelter. Will all meet outside the Cafe in the grounds of the park at midday - near the Dinosaur trail! Then groups of you can go and visit the exhibition over the course of the afternoon.
Hope to see you there!
Jacky"

 Queen acoustic set.
Well he's just told me that he will be performing there, so I am going.
Only thing that I am not sure about is wether it is free to see that show once you get into the grounds. Do you need a ticket!
Anyone?

But when are we gonna get some time with him in the US?

Try between November and January 2010-2011 and then share him with us Limeys and Euros:-)
I have tried to prise the boy from his demanding schedule and to fit us in between caipiroskas and vacations, but to no avail, there isn't the most infinitessimal window available, but we are looking at 2011.

 Picnic
Well that is jolly nice of them to perform for free!!! We ought to let fans know that's it a free concert.
Shame that we can't squeeze Bri and Rog out of hibernation for a day!

I'm not sharing my cucumber sandwiches and scotch eggs with anyone!
Apart from the fact that its happening, we know very little of the format. I'll ask the big bloke when I talk to him and see what he says.

I was told by the big bloke that it is "just a picnic with him [Jeff], Spike & Jamie sitting around with an acoustic guitar".
Have fun!!

I really wish I could go. The last time I saw him was when he was with Journey in Birmingham, Al. Seems I only get to see him once every 4 or 5 years!

Ok you picnic partiers, where are the leftovers? We're starving and I'm not talking about the food!

Well today was a rare treat indeed. A glorious British summers day (rare in itself!) spent in the grounds of one of our beautiful stately homes. To give you an idea frequently, in the background, we could see herds of deer running across our line of vision!
Little groups of people were seated either on the floor or camping chairs with a huge variety of picnic food and of course alcohol. Jeff was present for the whole of the picnic spending his time between Jackie, Frank and Richards groups.
After an hour or so Jeff, Jamie and Spike gave us an acoustic performance of Queen (and Queen related songs). No rehearsal had taken place and a couple of times Jamie pleaded "forgive us Freddie because we know not what we do" and Jeff commented "you get what you pay for" and, of course,. it was free!.
However, seated in the shade of a tree, with Jeff keeping time to the music by killing marauding wasps with his tambourine they put on a charming performance and everyone I spoke to thoroughly enjoyed it. Jeff was in fine voice and the guys get on so well together they were joking and laughing from start to finish. Magical!

Just a bit of an update from yesterday;
Jeff is now on vacation and no news is likely to be forthcoming on any front for a few weeks, but if there is then it will be in Jeff's site first. However the JSS Promotions team were there yesterday and we had a fair opportunity to look at the past year, to ruminate on what might be and to discuss 'administrative' matters - so I think that you can look forward to some more Jeff in 2011, with a couple of exciting projects in the wings.
Having said that, yesterday was a wonderfully informal get together of UK Queen fans in the setting of Knebworth Park where, some 25 years ago today Queen played. It was the setting for an exhibition of Queen memorabilia and Jeff, being a big Queen fan took the opportunity to be part of the 'party'. The acoustic session (unpaid but, as Jeff commented' "You get what you pay for!") contained some wonderful renditions in an almost camp fire setting surrounded by parkland (where only a week ago there had been 50,000 watching 'Sonisphere'), herds of deer and wasps galore coming to sample the picnic.
Rich captured the session on my Sony Handycam, so its there for posterity and may see the light of day at some time (providing I can find a way to get the Handycam and my ancient Mac G4 to communicate!).
It was good to meet FOJ again and to see the way in which Queen fans take him to their heart.

 Jeff at Knebworth
Thanks Frank, I always love the way you describe things you should have been a writer. As I said to you yesterday I was so pleased to see you again too. I also got to speak to Richard for the first time as well which was a bonus. It was a wonderful day, really special because of its informality, and everyone I spoke to remarked on how good Jeff was and how pleased they were to see him again.

No wonder I'm such a big fan of these vocalists! Both played free concerts in the park for fans this summer, they are both so down to earth and just plain ROCK on so many levels! Wish I could have been at JSS's also.
Thanks for the update Frank. Couple exciting projects in the works? Yay!!
