It's a path most of these young child stars are destined to face, unfortunately, thanks to an industry who places profit far above integrity. Here's the pattern I notice for all the Britney's, Lindsey's, Christina's, Jessica's, and maybe Miley's of the world...

1) Milk the Rated-G crowd for all it's worth with the squeaky clean image, until things start to wane. This may last around 3 years or 2-3 albums.

2) Start flirting with the sexuality and go for the Rated-PG13 crowd for maybe 1 or 2 albums...

3) Go full-on sleaze and squeeze the soul out of your artist, turning them into a full-bore sex object, pole dancer, stripper, whatever, and let them waste themselves away on the nightclub circuit to keep their names in the tabloid headlines. This is where they really get scarred for life.

4) Dump them once they are no longer marketable...

And with all of the types, there is cross-marketing... actors record albums, singers do films, etc, etc. They are nothing but pawns in a big game. Anyway, n-i-i-i-i-c-e, Miley... it's started for you even earlier than I predicted it would.

Predicted almost 2 1/2 years ago, and Nostrodokkus is never wrong. She's playing out exactly as predicted, just like showbiz clockwork. Wouldn't be surprised if Billy Ray Cyrus came out and said proudly that he'd fitted her for her first training bra, just like Papa Joe did with Jessica Simpson. Who's next? I want to get my predictions in early.

Good dance song ...and she's adorable!! I see nothing as bad or worse than any
other singer her age ... Fact is, she built her fanbase when she was a little girl and the
folks that still have little girls are pissed off!! Hannah Montana is growing up!!
I remember how parents freaked out when they found out the NKOTB were regular teenage
boys ...for shame.

The pictures with her dad were waaayyyy creepy!!

As a single Dad who gets stuck watching Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana way too much for the love of my daughter, I just have to say that I really don't care. The problem with anyone in entertainment, primarily those who begin their career in the Disney limelight is that everyone wants them to stay in the character that they are playing their entire life. 20 years from now, if anyone is still paying attention to her, they will be saying, "Why couldn't Miley be like she was 20 years ago?" That's a ridiculous expectation. It just makes it more difficult when you have a Hollywood image of being one thing and having to stay in that shell. I saw that video people were complaining about recently, where she looks too "sexy." I didn't see her looking any different than any of the other young female stars who were growing up and doing the same thing. Just my 2 cents.

Hey, to each his own.
I just know that no teenager is perfect and Miley's behavior isn't going to change that ...
At this point, I do not see Miley following in the paths
of LiLoasIcango, ParisStreetwalker or BritanyItookawrongturnoutoflouisianaspears ...These girls,
other than BritBrit, were not parented!!

Depends on what you're referring to as parenting. I see Miley as moving faster and with a lot less class than any of the aforementioned celebs, but like you have stated, to each his own. Just wait until she has to really crub for attention. She will outshine the others. She isn't really that pretty and I can't see her turning into a beauty anytime soon. Her head, hair tossing can last just so long before she throws her back out.

I think she's adorable, girls usually outgrow hair tossing and I've never been one of those parents who found a great deal of joy in bringing down the children of another to make me feel good about myself/my children!! I'm not a fan of Miley, per se, but I wish her the best ...time will tell!!

That's really a given, and not my beef. Anyone who wants them to maintain that illusions forever is pipedreaming. Here's my beef though, and it's not just against Miley, but against the industry. They don't even wait until these kids are "legal" to start them pushing the sexuality. At least give them until 18 before they start whoring up the image. I think that's harmful to:

1) The artist, who needs more time to grow and learn to make mature decisions where all that's concerned. Wonder how many miles Miley will have on her in a few more years? Not where I'd want to be by age 20.

2) The young fans who damn certainly follow their example, no matter who tries to claim otherwise. They are ALL role models, and start becoming bad ones around 16-17.

3) The music industry in general, which pushes sexuality above talent, but this is nothing new. I'll never forget Ann Wilson's comment a few years back about how you can't make it in pop music any more without being a stripper or a pole dancer.

And a bonus point:

4) F*** Billy Ray Cyrus. Whoever gave a damn about him anyway?

Anyway, the point of my post is that this is what the industry does with young artists, and it's become extremely predictable. If she can't handle it in a few years and becomes trashed or wasted tabloid fodder like Britney or Lindsey, I'll come back again and say I told ya so. :)

People were saying the same thing about Hilary Duff and she seems normal, or as normal as one can be, finding fame at such a young age. I think Miley isn't any better or worse than regular American teens, Her fan base has grown up with her, it's the late bloomers who have problems with her no longer sticking to the sweet little girl image she was introduced with some years ago.
