Not that i was a huge fan or anything, but the day i no longer saw Jon Butcher Axis videos on MTV....I knew it was over for the integrity of that station.

Since it's really no longer Music TeleVision, I can't say that I wish them a happy birthday.

It's already gone on 24 or 25 years too long.

MTV was cool back then because they had your favorite music on all day long. Now it and VH1 have all these sleazy reality shows that are so dumb I cannot bring myself to do anything but pass it fast with the remote.

No you get $100 per new subscriber you get to join. They'd also give you $100 off your bill for joining.

Though I do pay $100 a month, but I subscribe to and pay for additional HD channels, HD access, 1 standard receiver, 1 HD receiver and a HD DVR.

No thanks...I only pay about $50/month for Dish Network and don't really want to pay additional to get VH1C.

I remember when "Club MTV" got cancelled. David Spade did a segment on SNL's Weekend Update. They put up her picture and he opened with this. "Wubba, wubba, wubba. My careers in trubba, trubba, trubba."

 Yep, when it actually used to be about music, videos and concerts. Remember back when they used to have MTV's "In Concert......." series? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iqd1JKO1SL8

No; not at all....

You see, once the POWERS THAT BE realized that "hey - people LIKE TO WATCH these videos!!", therefore, they "branched out" a bit.

 At a price. :x

In 2000, I was ABSOLUTELY SPOILED by the different "fragments" of MTV / VH1..........and there's a TON of channels between the 2 of them, for whatever you're looking for...

...NOW, you just have to PAY for it.  \~/

Me too! I used to watch Totally Pauly after school.  Back then it was cheap though. I have cable now, but it's broadcast. I pay $13 a month and it still feels too expensive. For many years, I paid $6 a month. Not too bad, considering. For entertainment I either watch my movie stash, Discover Health or RTV3 , AN OLDIES network.
