Night Ranger - Currnently the Best Band in America

Folks,

Go pick up Somewhere in California and High Road and have a listen. Then go see these guys live. They are by FAR the best band in America today. Their new material is better than their classic stuff from the 80's by a bunch. If you compare them to their current peers like Journey, Foreigner, Boston, etc. they have the lead. The latest material from Journey and Boston have been WEAK. Foreigner's latest was decent but not great in comparison.

Live, I've seen Night Ranger with Journey and Foreigner as a show, Boston and Lover Boy. Night Ranger in every case was better than the head liners as the opening act. They are high energy guys that put on a great show. My only complaint is they do not play enough of their own new material live.

Please do your self a favor and go see these guys, they are just AWESOME! With their new and old material!

I disagree, I think their 80's stuff is far superior. I do agree that they are a very good live band, if you haven't seen them.

I've seen them 3 times in the last 3 years. They are a great live band, best going at the moment.

The thing I like about their new material is the diversity and depth of the material. Every song off High Road is good. Their are no "skippers" on that cd. I can't say that about their older material. I appreciate your view.

Filler? I guess that all depends on what you think is filler. I really don't think the first 4 cds have any filler. There are maybe one or two songs that I don't like, but I know others like those songs so it is a matter of opinion.. For example, I don't like Night Machine, Play Rough, or Chipping Away. I can honestly say every other song off those cds are great, but I think if any of those 3 songs were on the new cd I think I would love them. You have to remember in the 80's a cd had 9 or 10 songs. The new Night Ranger cd has 11 plus bonus tracks and the songs are much longer. Not saying the new cd is bad, I just think it is still not as great as the earlier stuff. I actually liked Somewhere in California better. Neverland and Seven are the worst of the bunch. Neverland has some good tracks. Can not say much positive about Seven.

Just listened to HIgh Road and Somewhere In California on Friday. Instant classics, both of them!

Their past 2 CDs would give any other cd they have done, a run for the money.
