Cain and Schon confirmed they will write new Journey tunes during their upcoming residency in Vegas. The writing sessions will also include Smitty.

I think confirmed is a bit of a strong word there. They said that they are planning to write new material with the current line-up, because they will be looking at a lot of down time together while in Vegas. Yeah, it's the perfect opportunity for them to do so. But I'm not taking any word as 'confirmed' until they have actually done it.

Cain and Schon were asked separately about writing and both said they plan to write as a band in Vegas. If that's not a confirmation, what is it? It's possible they say "fuck it" and just play slots all day...but for right now, they confirmed their plans to write new Journey music.
Art Vandelay wrote:I'm as excited as the next person to see new material come from the current line-up. The down time in Vegas is the perfect time to get together and write something new, and like you said now, Cain and Schon are both planning to do that. But planning and confirming are two different things. 'Confirming' (as you said in your earlier post) that they will write new music is a guarantee. 'Planning' isn't. It apparently doesn't take much to drive a creative wedge between those two guys these days, so that's why I'm saying that planning to write isn't a guarantee that they will.
So yeah, lets just go with they confirmed that they are planning to do something and hope for the best.
