What would you put on a Greatest (non hits) album?

Postby tj » Wed Jun 14, 2017 3:29 pm

After reading the post about Neal wanting to put out a boxed set of old stuff, I started thinking about whether there was anything else that fans would buy on a Greatest nonhits album. If it included post Perry stuff, I might. Some I think are possible:

Remember Me
Higher Place
Place in Your Heart
Faith in the Heartland
LaDoDa
Sweet and Simple
Where Were You

Thoughts?

I know this is slightly off topic but...I would reissue the Dream After Dream soundtrack and I agree...Good Morning Girl and Little Girl (from Dream After Dream soundtrack) are horribly under-appreciated.

NOT Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin. Not now...not ever. Hands off. That's Steve's very personal experience and yes...he did play it while he was in Journey so you could cry Journey song, that is a very personal experience. That amongst some others (Homemade Love being another one) should not be done by anybody else.

I don't think they've ever not performed in the post-Perry era. Which is unfortunate since it's such a mediocre and overrated song

I would drop Be Good to Yourself as well. I love the song BUT I rarely hear it on classic rock radio and it also shreds vocalists. Go look up Augeri or Arnel footage of it.

The best part of LTS is City of the Angels being played after it. But now radio stations don't do that. Radio stations have become TOP HITS stations. They won't play any deep cuts anymore. This is a bad sign.

It is like playing Feeling That Way without Anytime next. These radio stations aren't any fun anymore!

Cain and Schon have discussed re-recording Arrival and other tunes. Could be a non-hits album.

"Yeah. We actually considered, at one point, Jonathan and I were talking about re-doing some of that stuff as we did with our Greatest Hits. And we felt very strongly about Arrival, too, the material –wise......
Who knows, you know? Maybe we'll do something like that: maybe we'll dabble into that. We could have done more Greatest Hits 2 with this record…like the other Greatest Hits that we did with Revelation and do the same thing we did last time. We just chose not to, you know."

Sirius XM, Classic Vinyl always plays them back to back just like the old radio days.

Yeah, I know. Doesn't make it right, but that's my opinion. I HATE it but whatever...
