I couldn't even possibly remember. I used to kind of keep track, but stopped. I've seen 100's of artists or bands. I have tickets to four shows as we speak (Loretta Lynn for my mom, Rick Springfield, Goo Goo Dolls, and Five for Fighting). I hope Loretta plays. She recently had a stroke but so far that show is not cancelled and she's been adding new ones. God speed to her.

I've thought about sitting down and trying to figure out the bands I've seen and times. Would take some research. Like, how do I know how many times I've seen Loudness open for someone, or how many times I've seen Springfield (I think this is my tenth trip). Would be a great list - I know that.

Journey is the only other band I have seen 10 times. 7 with Perry, 2 with Augeri, and 1 with Arnel. 5 of those Perry shows were on the ROR tour. And then 82 and 83. Saw Steve solo twice.

My sister was a big Osmond fan too and they were my first concert. I was maybe 11 or something. Went to a couple tapings of the D&M show. Talented family, to say the least.

My phase went through Manilow and the Bee Gees and then to UFO and Aerosmith and on from there.

Ok. I made an attempt. I had a list that I had kept current until about 1993 or so. There's no way I captured all the bands since then, but it's a pretty good start. Outside of that Osmonds thing, I didn't start seeing shows until the summer of 82 and those first few years were lean, so I missed out on a lot. Beyond this list, there are countless other openers, local bands, and friends' bands I could not possibly remember. And even full events that I can't remember. I remember being there and going with my wife and friends, but can't recall who we were seeing. Sucks to get old. I saw Huey Lewis not long ago and swore it was the first time I'd seen him. Looking at the list, he was already on there and a night at Universal Studios in the 80's came rushing back to memory. I should have kept a journal. My current tickets are on this list, though I kept Loretta Lynn of as sadly I think she will cancel her show next month.

This forced me to look through some old photos and it was really nice. Pictures of Me and Lora, Cyndi, and Deeno at Melissa Etheridge. Us at the Jeff Scott Soto show as well. Other friends and family. Cool task. Anyway, here's the list thus far.

P.S. I have a thing for Last Name, First Name. Sorry about that.

I've actually seen them 52 1/2 times. On R30 i left a show at intermission because I got a phone call saying I didn't get a job I'd applied for...I was bummed.

I also have 274 bootlegs audio shows...66 of them are soundboards. Nothing better than live RUSH. 8) 8)

Thanks for clarifying. Device was also an early 80s act featuring songwriter Holly Knight.

She's written songs like: Hide your Heart(Ace Frehley, Kiss), Love is a Battlefield, Invincible(Pat Benatar), Rag Doll(Aerosmith), Just Between You & Me(Lou Gramm), Better Be Good to Me, The Best(Tina Turner), The Warrior (Scandal)

This would be virtually impossible for me to come up with a list. I've seen just about every band I've ever liked multiple times. Cheap Trick would be 30+ and KISS not far behind though.

Your answer is fallacious. Have most people heard of:

Derek & The Dominos?
Sex Pistols?
Blind Faith?
Jeff Buckley?

Each one was a one-album wonder.

Funny, David Draiman's Device also only released one album.

What a weak-ass argument. (And I wasn't bagging on the band, either!)

When's the last time you heard a Device song on the radio? Since never? And those others? They play D&TD/BF daily, and there's a good chance you'll hear some Pistols and Buckley, depending on the station.

I can walk up to 20 different people at the store and ask them if they've heard of Saga. I bet they'll say no. Saga has no fewer than 21 studio albums, not counting live albums and collections.

I know it's a weak-ass argument. It's called Socratic Method...I was mirroring your weak-ass argument. The reason not many people heard of the 1980s version of Device isn't because they only released one album - because I've already proved there are other bands that are well-known from only having had one album, rather it's due to them not really being famous.

Regardless...Holly Knight IS a FAMOUS songwriter.

You're such a whiner.

Most people have never heard of Device because they had only one album and they're a forgotten '80s relic.

Yea. You gotta admire this woman. 85, a stroke, and wants to get back out there after recovery. Most people would just chill for the rest of their lives.

I picked up Melissa Etheridge tickets for August.

FINALLY! Rick Springfield played 3 new songs off his latest, and 2 others from recent include the great Our Ship is Sinking. The show rocked. 10th time seeing him and this was easily the best. He must have gotten my memo.

Note to self: Don't look at the crowds at these shows. They are my age and it will be depressing.
