Love the intro,
Next up -Steve FREAKIN' Perry.
Listen live here

http://player.listenlive.co/24591

hopefully he is up after the nirvana song.

Great intro conversation. Cool to hear a little bit of him singing WITS.
Getting spit on on there UK tour in the 70s playing for 60 people.
Speaking Portuguese...didnt know his family was from the Azores.
And now No More Cryin, sounds great

Damn, Steve says you have to hear the rocker Sun Shines Gray, says do you have it? Only for the producer to say no.
But next up is Were Still Here.
Whoever said to not watch the videos is so right. I think without the visuals taking over the senses, so much more can be heard. I love that song.

In all his interviews, never hard him laugh so much.

I loved watching these, wish he could have finished the story about the concert in Golden Gate Park being the worst experience of his life.... I would have liked to know why. I know people were not impressed with his voice at that concert, I'd love to hear his side of the story.

He needs to write a book :D :D :D

I dont think it was about his voice but how choked up he was. Not only over Graham dying but being on stage with Neal and Jon after 4 years. And it didnt help they were performing in front of so many stoned deadheads who couldnt care about Journey.
That emotional plea from Perry for them to sing just once going unnoticed. Still sad when they were done just a sparse spattering of applause and basically Journey giving a subtle wave and turning and walking away. Avery sad circumstance for Journey with Perrys last live performance. 28 Years ago

Just less than 2 two years before his voice was amazing even on a bad recording w/ Bon Jovi in a much happier setting.

That crowd was an embarrassment. You have one of the best voices in music history, pure greatness, and they sit there like a bunch of idiots. Stoned deadheads was exactly it. Sickening how Perry had to almost get on his knees to ask the crowd to sing along.

The concert that Jonesy and Perry were trying to remember was the Mountain Aire Festival in Angels Camp, CA. It was actually the second of two festival shows in 1986. The opening acts were Honeymoon Suite, Andy Taylor (Duran Duran), and The Outfield. The concert videos for "Be Good to Yourself" and "Girl Can't Help it" were taken from that show.

They had some pretty cool posters: http://rockinonfilm.com/MAire.html

That's awesome! I'm really jealous. Was that concert as crazy as it looked on the videos? Man, that looked like a good time lol.
