Ascension Theory - Answers, This is a cool CD. You know kinda like
when you discover a really cool Blues (or whatever genre) Artist you like. Its kinda like when I first heard Stevie Ray Vaughn. I knew that I would always love his music and never tire of it. Wanting more all the time. Its too bad he's gone RIP!
Anyway that's why I started listening to Prog oriented music. The love of discovering new music. Especially the more towards metal type the better (for me). This is a great CD.
I love Concept Cd's. This one has a futuristic story line. It makes me think of Threshold/Dream Theater (musically). So much of the time the mix of keyboards and other instruments sounds Symphonic, I mean like a real symphony. And I have always loved Rock and symphony together. Its very cool.
Heavy at times (when needed) are the ever present keyboards. That's Prog right? LOL but its cool and it works. Not overbearing but a powerful drum beat for time and tempo making it all flow into the mixture of melodic vocal choruses and harmonies. And I love a great male/female mix. Which this CD has on tracks 6 & 7 with Beverly Luse .
My favorite tracks are Passion Of My Heart, The Way Of Death, Saturn's Reign and the title track. Heavy guitar riffs (woohoo) Cool Keys/Upbeat drums/rockin bass and smooth vocals make this a CD must for all Prog fans!!
