Lucidity is the impressive debut album of Delain, a unique gothic rock project initiated by (ex-Within Temptation) keyboardist Martijn Westerholt. He has surrounded himself with a number of extremely talented musicians such as Finnish bassist Marko Hietala (Nightwish, Tarot), guitarist Jan Yrlund (ex-Lacrimosa) and Norwegian vocalist Liv Kristine (ex-Theatre of Tragedy, Leaves' Eyes). A number of renowned Dutch rock musicians contributed to the project as well: singer Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation), guitarist Ad Sluyter (Epica), drummer Ariën van Weezenbeek (God Dethroned) and singer George Oosthoek and guitarist Guus Eikens (ex-Orphanage). Delain has room for new talent as well: the young and relatively unknown singer Charlotte Wessels (ex-To Elysium) contributed most of the vocals on the album.

I like Charlotte's voice. Its not too distinct from some of the other great female voices of this type of music but she is good and backed by decent songs. I'm not a big fan of the Marko's voice but the songs with him and Charlotte or the guest singers like Sharon Den Adel are nice. Overall worth a listen

It's one of those titles I've had problems getting ahold of. I'll probably add it to a future trade list.

I have only seen their video. Sounds great. Is a very hard release to get unless you want to pay 35.00 on ebay for it!!
