People love that kind of stuff, lights.. pyro.. big screens.. big stage.. the works.

I didn't like the fact that this last tour Journey had to settle for a poorer stage set up than Leppard's.![]()
So next time what I would love to see, besides big screens, pyros and mindblowing lights, would be something special for Deen.
His drums should be put on a mobile device which, for example, could move him together with the drum set toward the middle of the stage while he sings the ballads.
That would have a nice visual impact on the audience and would put Deen in a well deserved spotlight while performing.
If he can't get away from the drums why not take the drums with him?
Or his drum set could be lifted above the stage, but not too high,lol...
Although spectacular, what Tommy Lee and Alex Van Halen were doing back in the days during their drum solos was way too dangerous! However, they were not singing,so they could afford the wild ride.

One of the all time classic movies! Most bands hate it, because it is way to close to the truth.

Got a perfect opening act for Rammstein:

and at some point have it fly around the auditorium.

Nothing stopping Frontiers from picking up that ball and running with it.

We'll see if they take that idea at the Virginia 400th anniversary celebration. If they don't, then hey - Fair's fair, guys but I'll be all over that idea.
Shit, could you imagine fitting an anamatronic scarab on the stage at Clarendon Grill!??
AR wrote:Now I realize that Journey doesn't need a mega stage show like Pink Floyd, The Stones or anything. However, with Jeff in the band, wouldn't it be cool to have some ramps for him to do his thing since he's so active on stage. Maybe some lasers or a little pyro? (They did use it sparringly with Steve Perry). I just never thought the stage production over the years has been that much.
I'd like to see a scarab behind the stage with lights, definitely some ramps that extend out from the stage at each corner and that wrap around the drum kit.
And most definitely I'd like to see a much more dramatic entrance when they come out onto stage.
Just thinking of ways to spice up an already smoking live band. Of course a bigger production would mean playing bigger venues, which I think we all hope they might be able to do down the line.
