Once again

Def Leppard continues to be ridiculous....Styx? Foreigner? Tell me now it isn't about the money. Cause if you don't think so, you need a reality check. Def Leppard should change their name to The Soccer Mom Group...how do you go from High N Dry all the way to playing with Styx. Styx and Foreigner are good in their own ways, but come on.

So once again it will be the same setlists, same concert cause of a shortage of playtime...At least I will be saving money this year...

Um as a soccer mom, I take offense to that comment :P I happen to love High N Dry, one of my favorite albums. Let It Go happens to be one of my favorite songs and I was thrilled they added it to their set list last year. They are genius for co-headling to bring in us women too. That has always been how they worked it. That's how many of the 80's hard rock bands sold tickets! Without the women, good luck filling a stadium! I know PLENTY of guys (yes, straight guys) who like Styx and Foreigner too, so just because you prefer music much harder rock, doesn't mean everyone does. They are playing for the majority, not a minority! It actually worked really well for them this last year with Journey. They want to bring in the numbers and sell tickets. Journey did that for them. It didn't work as well with Bryan Adams the year before. There are many people who enjoy the music of all of these bands. Having a double bill like that brings them in.

Did not mean for that to be a sexist comment. The more women there, the better I say. But I was referring to the lame music as of late. They had plenty of women back in the days were they produced good music and not bubble gum pop.

Don't know if I am in the minority anymore about their concert/who they bill with/new music. I seen a billion comments on how people are SICK and TIRED of the greatest hits tour, not to mention their last two shitty releases. And I am going to stick to my guns and say DL still does not belong with Styx and Foreigner...don't care if dudes like them or not. It should be Aerosmith or anyone from that genre. I surely hope someone out there isn't comparing DL to Styx and Foreigner music wise (well maybe that garbage X album).

I know what you mean about the greatest hits tour. All of the older bands are having the same problem though. They try to play something less known to the masses, and people sit down. I was at 7 DL/Journey concerts last year, and I saw it happen with DL and Journey. Journey likes to throw in one here or there for their die hard fans and the other people use it as a beer or bathroom break. It's discouraging for them, and for us as big fans. I don't know what they could do though. They want the crowd going wild because it gives them energy, and the majority of the crowd wants to hear the radio hits they remember and they want to sing and dance to them. Def Leppard is not alone in this problem though. I prefer their hard stuff too, although being a woman, there are some ballads I love too.

What I'd like to know is what the hell happened to the new album they were supposed to be working on?

The last time I saw Styx was in '95 (I think) and they were okay without DDY. I loved Foreigner back in the 80s, but I've never seen them without Lou Gramm. I think it'd be a good show, but it'll be a limit of one for me. The set list was short enough last tour co-headlining with one other band. I can imagine what it's going to be like with two...and I know I have a better chance of seeing a cow fly than hearing songs like Desert Song or Mirror, Mirror.

 I guess I am gonna pay for the soccer mom comment for a while aren't I?

The X tour they played half of H N D and people seemed to love it. I think if they back off some of their hits people would still go in numbers.

 No you don't have to pay for that! It's not the first time I've heard that! Maybe I'm just not the typical soccer mom  I agree though, it would be nice if they went back a little more, and I wish I had the opportunity to see the X tour, because hearing more of High N Dry would have made me happy too! Maybe without needing to use some of those Yeah covers, since this tour will not be backed by an album, they will go back a little more for us! We can hope :)
