Anyone checked these two out?

Really young.......but powerhouse vocals with super potential....

Love it,

Also, i just got hooked onto a band called Everlife.......more similar to paramour.........

flyleaf is edgier........more screaming, more angry, harder rock.......and yet a couple of ballads with stong messages

Hey, cool, somebody else that likes Flyleaf! A co-worker of mine told me about them and I think their first album is great. It'll be interesting to see what they do for their second album.

Haven't heard Paramour or Everlife. I'll see about checking them out.

Flyleaf is just like all the other modern rock bands. Generic. Uninfluential. And sounds like everyone else. But instead of using the upteen billionth Metalica-clone singer, they instead use a whiny female singer who is susceptable to the occasssional random scream.

But hey, if you like that style of music, you should also check out In This Moment. If your definition of hard and edgy is heavy riffing and screaming, this band makes Flyleaf look like amateurs.

If the names are mentioned on this forum and I haven't heard of it, then usually I'll go and check them out. But generally, my specialties are female melodic rock/AOR (usually of the pure 80's-sounding variety) and gothic/power metal.

I can tolerate grunts, but I've never, ever been able to warm up to female screams.
