I wasn't that impressed with their debut. The only song I liked was "Open Your Eyes".

Maybe you should listen to it more than once..There are even Journey songs I had to listen to multiple times for them to grow on me..Or its possible its not your style of music..

There are differences between Alter Bridge and Creed’s sound. Tremonti lets loose, as far as guitar solos go, a little more than he did in Creed. The lead singer comment is a matter of opinion, I like Myles Kennedy but he is not a better singer than Scott Stapp to my ears anyway.

The new album is actually titled Blackbird and it does kick ass. I have been waiting for new Alter Bridge music for over 3 years and I have to say it was well worth the wait.

One day remains was better IMO, this one is good, but sometimes too heavy at the expense of being more melodic like the first release. Its got some good songs though, and it is a good band

I just think they wanted to change their sound a little..No bands want their songs to sound the same..Well,except for Nickleback... :)

i always liked creed.when they quit they were probably the biggest rock band around in 2001 or 2002.they sold about 20 or 30 million records in a very short period of time.too bad scott stapp had to fuck it all up.

I'm a fan of all phases of Petra. The only album I don't like much at all is "God Fixation", though even that has a handful of good tunes.

Yep! Me too! Petra was such a great band! I know they wanted to "retire" but still, I wished they hadn't. :-(

Let me ask you something…Who says “tons of range” ultimately makes a singer great :?: A singer could have all the range in the world but not be able to connect with the listener. Range is definitely a plus but that doesn’t make them better than other’s who happen to have less.

Myles Kennedy has more range than Scott Stapp. FACT. That doesn’t make me like him more nor does it make me feel more when I listen to his voice. Kennedy’s voice is better than 75% of the crap I hear on current radio stations these days; I like the guy and think he is the best singer Alter Bridge could have gotten. But if you ask me is he better than Scott Stapp? My responce will be: Hell no :!:

Stapp’s voice speaks to me on a personal level. When I listen to songs that contain his voice the lyrics speak to me directly and that is something Kennedy has yet to do. Scott Stapp is truly speaking from the deepest part of his soul. It is about feeling and emotion and that is something that goes well past range! I don’t care if I’m the only one with this opinion I will forever feel this way.

Are you happy now? You’ve got me sounding like a Perry loon! LOL

I will defend Scott Stapp as adamantly as Steve Perry is defended here by a select few.

P.S. Mikemarrs…yeah Scott Stapp is the only one responsible for the destruction of Creed. It takes two; don't be naïve!

Thats still not saying much....he's a Hammett wanna be that has been held back (thankfully so) from doing stupid metallica rip off riffs in Creed and Alterbridge's music by VERY smart producers. I've seen some video clips of him at soundcheck trying to be all cool and do some gay-ass stupid Hammett wah wah lead run....and his pick attack was painfully awful. Nothing better than what you would hear from the various shitbags that show up in Guitar Center on a saturday afternoon, cranking amps and doing the 'death metal day camp' thing....

I find anything Tremonti touches, to be something to avoid....Technically, he's a step above Kurt Cobain, in my book.
