A not-so-well-known fact: His middle name is "My Butt Is". :D

My wife (then girlfriend) used to like him when he was on the show. I remember her getting mad at me for calling him gay. She said he wasn't. We bickered about it alot. I was telling her this during the finale, they just got done interviewing Studdard in his dressing room. They went to Aiken in his dressing room and the walls were pink with purple paisleys on them.
I rolled off her mom's couch and on the floor dying of laughter in front of her whole family!!!

I did the same the first time I heard Kathy Griffin refer to him as "Gayken."

To anyone thinking I'm a homophobe, remember this is my opinion.

I don't subscribe to the belief that you're born that way so wonder how much his "star" experience contributed to it or if he's been that way from the start.

I worked at a company where a guy was very friendly and I thought somewhat effiminate. Turned out he was a Christian and engaged to a woman. So much for my "gaydar". :)

When Diane Sawyer asked Aiken this question, he responded that its no one's business. IMO he should've kept it that way. Why do I need to know this? Just as with artists politicizing, famous people's sexuality isn't something that needs to be shouted from the rooftops.

Contrary to most here, I think Aiken does have talent and a decent voice. Don't think it was a good career move though. Many of his fans are women.

They actually made a pretty good couple. She didn't come off super feminine so I guess it all balanced out.
