No official word yet, but I'm thinking not at least until November, as they are going to be touring Europe in September and from what I hear South East Asia, etc. in October. Sure hope so, have never seen Mr Big live. Ain't missing them this time around! :)

MR BIG WORLD TOUR!
The Classical Metal Show
Interview with Billy Sheehan

Chris: So, is there plans in the future, getting back together and recording, or is this kind of ‘wait and see how everything plays out’, or… where are ya at?

Billy: There’s no specific plan, but I would expect a bit. It might happen, as a natural occurence. You know, I’m sure… I’d love to record again. Do some more songs. We’ve all got lots of great stuff that we’d love to contribute to a band album. So that’s very likely that it will happen. We will have a lot of live playing to do, ’cause of something. We still have South America, and Europe, Italy… in Italy, there’s 5 or 6 Mr. Big copy bands that play also. So Mr. Big is gigantic in Italy. And all across Europe, all across South America, Australia, southeast Asia, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Taiwan, Japan of course, Korea we do well in, Russia, we have offers to go there… so, and all across the US as well. From New York to L.A. and all points in between. So, it’s going to be a busy time for us. You couldn’t make me happier. To have this happen is great.

Definitely sounds like it will happen. I'm thinking more along the lines of smaller venues (Nokia vs Staples) but still sounds like it is a done deal.

I spoke with Eric about this and, currently (as of a couple of weeks ago), they didn't have any offers to do anything here. He said that they could *easily* do a club tour here, but he wants to hook up with another large band (do a package-type thing) so that they would be playing the bigger venues to bigger audiences. He said that with the band back together, doing well overseas, and getting along great, that they want to project a "bigger" image here, as well.

Eric is correct, I spoke to a promoter from Chicago and he also said they same thing, No demand for Mr. Big at all in the USA. He thinks they should play small clubs to get the audience back. The promoter works for Live Nation. Sad to hear this. Oh well at least we get the Live DVD next month.

No audience in North America for this band. Small clubs is their only option if they want to tour solo or Opening band for a package tour with 2 other bands. This is from a friend who works for Live Nation.

I think Winger is a perfect option for Mr. Big. Winger's going to have Karma coming out...they will likely do a tour in the early winter here in the states (assuming they do similar to what they did for IV)...

Get Mr.Big out there with Winger and one other big act from that era, like a tesla or something...and they could possibly do a small theater tour (i.e. Beacon in NY, Warfield in San Fran, etc)

Ugh...so we'd see them play for under an hour "opening" for a band I very likely wouldn't give two shits about (or at least would be far less interested in seeing than MB). Not that they'd be likely to play in Nashville anyway, but still...

You are right they would play for about 45 minutes opening for 2 other bands. That's if they get any offers to tour north america. Their is no demand for Mr. Big here in North America.

Now that would be a helluva show! :D

But I don't care, from a strictly selfish fans point of view, I'd rather see them in a smaller venue anyway........clubs like the Roxy or something.

Not looking to be a dick, but: "There is no demand" not "Their is no demand"....

regardless, I'm inclined to agree with you, so long as you suggest that by saying there is no demand, you mean, there is no wide-scale demand to support a theater tour or greater.

I think Mr Big could pull off a club tour with significant success. There is enough demand to support that...

Actually you are. I forgot you are so perfect, It is promoters from Live Nation saying there is no demand for Mr. Big. You are incorrect in saying that there is enough support for a club tour. They would have to be the opening band for a package club tour.

I don't know if I'd say "no" audience...a very small audience absolutely, but there is one I think. A club tour alone or theatres w/ a package would work I think. They did have a number one single and a couple of platinum albums in America before it all went south...if Slaughter, Stryper, Great White, LA Guns, etc can keep getting tours surely Mr. Big can find some avenue in North America...

A very small audience means no audience to the promoters and club owners, this is according to Live Nation. I hope the band goes for a club tour in the spring and then a package tour for the summer.

I dunno, if Extreme could do it last year, I see no reason why Mr. Big couldn't either. I always felt like those two bands had very similar career trajectories and thus would draw the same basic audience.
