I didn't even know there WAS any Journey vinyl releases after the late 80's "Greatest Hits" (studio) album. If they did GHL, Arrival, or Revelation on vinyl, I'd definitely buy them.

Aren't there some bands re-releasing their albums on vinyl?

I used to have a Denon with a heavy wooden base. I think Technics made some great ones also back then but the Denon looked killer.
Not that anyone was asking.

i've got one of those. i swear the suspension in that thing would keep the record from skipping even in an earthquake!

I'm still listening to my vinyl on a Fisher 500C tube receiver through Bose 901's from back in the day. The Technics turntable was a christmas present to me from my parents in 1975. I'm glad I hung onto this equipment. I don't think, even to this day there is a better tuner made than my 70s Marantz.

Yes, many. Although it's a label decision mostly, rather than the artists, and not all of them are done right. (For ex, most of those Capitol "from the vaults" Beach Boys & The Band vinyl reissues are digitally sourced, kind of defeating the purpose) But it's definitely coming back...picked up some excellent vinyl reissues of Appetite For Destruction, Moondance, and most of the Hendrix catalog, and am loving it.
Playing it on a Technics SL-1200 with an AT440MLa cartridge...kicks the shit out of CD's, especially these over-compressed monstrosities they've been releasing for the last decade.

Having said that, Journey has not been one of those bands, although they sold so many LP's back in the 70's/80's that it's not difficult to find fairly pristine copies of any of their albums, so there probably isn't much of a market for reissues. I've never heard of TBF or Greatest Hits Live getting vinyl releases though.

Probably not for Journey. You can find near-mint copies of any of the original Perry-era LP's for under $5 without too much effort. Granted, labels will do anything for a buck, so who knows.

Had a hard time finding my favorite though, took a while but found a very good condition LP of Still They Ride on ebay awhile back. Favorite song & cover!

Is that really the Journey record, Deb? Is it a 45, the small records they used to make? Which version of the song - the Budokan one? How cool...it even has Jesse on the license plate.

Not a 45, it is a full size LP. It has the Escape version of STR on side I and La Raza Del Sol on side II. It says on the back of the cover "special radio edition".......so propably not for sale or in circulation. I framed a few cool album covers for downstairs in the rumpus room. But I love that song and loved the cover for some reason.

A lot of promo singles were issued as 12" versions for radio stations; they had better fidelity and were easier for DJ's to use.

Not Journey, but just the media format we're talking about. If you get tired of these boat anchors they are really cool throwing them out of a speeding car at a slight angle. They fucking go sky high in seconds and upon impact they burst into a drillion fragments out on the highway. If your really lucky you can have them smack into road signs.....that's always been my favorite impact.
First "invented" this manuever back in high school while working at McDonald's. A group of us got together and ripped off a frozen case of Big Mac patties. We were tossing them out of the car while speeding down the freeway. Fucking hillarious seeing those things bulleting up in the air and come crashing down into road signs and shit. Shortly after we moved on to vinyl records. That's what happened to all my Phil Collins, Cheech & Chong, Madonna, and movie soundtracks.

What if you have lots of Journey LP's since the time they were released? LOL! I also have an LP of them live in Japan. Very rare. I won't part with any of them. They are great nostalgia items for me. The artwork was cool, and large.

No. Raised on Radio was the last of the Vinyl. I have that, as well as a 12" DJ version of IBAWY.
As for Perry, I believe Street Talk was it for Vinyl.
