Audio Track from Unreleased 2010 Copenhagen DVD

Simon mixed the Joseph dvd that was ultimately scrapped. AOR magazine included a track off of it. Musically, it sounds good. Not sure about Joseph. He hits his marks, but that's about all that can be said. Where's the energy?

Like you said, just kinda plodding. Musically good, sure, but would you expect anything less from these guys?

You're way too harsh man, the singing is fine, there's definitely energy there.

I'm just SO glad that the vocals are all real again. No more of Greg and Tony's horrendous singing and all the fake backups and autotune is gone. (Which to this day, I'm sure Luke still denies ever using. )

Yeh, I listened to it again, and I realized I'm being a dick. Joe sounds pretty good. Not Farenheit good, but it gets the job done. Bobby, when *on*, had more feeling tho.

i seen TOTO in Berlin last year, and they were fantastic, in fact, i dont think ive ever heard a band sound as good as that before! The vocals were on the money, and Joe was all live because he struggled with a few notes and the 2 BV helped him out. In fact, Simon Phillips aside, the only guy who didn't do any singing was Steve Porcaro. To be honest, there was just the same energy on stage as there always is, maybe even more so than the last 10 years with Bobby. Toto singers dont tend to be traditional frontmen like Roth or Mercury, but never the less, they put on a great show and im looking forward to London next week :D

The most IMPORTANT thing is that they're having FUN again. They have their energy back. The Toto from 2004 to 2008 was lifeless and just painful to watch. I can't watch ANY concerts anymore from 2004 to 2008 except for the Tokyo shows from March 2008 where Paich played with them.

yeh, i agree dude. i kept missing Toto in the last 10 years, but after watching dvd concerts, theres no doubt that there all havin fun again. Toto without Paich is like The Stones without Keith Richards, just NO GOOD! although Gregg P was a great player :)

Agree on the feeling. Though I think you've nailed it with the word "on". I always thought Bobby was such a yo-yo vocalist ... all over the map. Either really good or really terrible live ... and often both in the same show.

Always found Joe just more consistent overall.

Damm that is just crazy. I thought Tony sang great and I love Greg's voice. Greg in particular is a spectacular singer and this is why he has sung with Clapton and Toto.

Ah well, everyone has an opinion, there are those that hate the world's greatest vocalists and musicians. I once saw post on You Tube that said the late Dregs keyboardist T Lavitz was one of the worst keyboardists in the world. Now that is nuts!
