Traces - Which One Song Live?

Postby ADALBL » Thu Jan 03, 2019 2:24 pm

So if you could only hear and watch Steve Perry perform one song off of the new Traces album (Target version with extra songs included) which would it be?

My vote: In The Rain - it just tears you apart and is such a perfect piece of songwriting, arrangement and performance - especially the vocal which is as vulnerable as any Steve has ever done.

I would really love to hear him play most/all of his new songs but if I had to pick one, In The Rain would be it.

Let the debate begin...

Oh, and I believe he will absolutely do some live performances and I expect to get to hear him sing In The Rain (and others live) :-)

Hope you are right.
In the rain would be tough but would love to hear.

My pick would be Angel Eyes with back-up singers.
Unsure if Journey or Perry ever had the typical 2-3 female back-ups live.

The only thing that comes to mind is the King Biscuit Super Jam, with Annie Sampson and Jo Baker from Stoneground.

Angel Eyes .
Perry's good natured bonhomie & the world’s most charmin smile, knocked fans off their feet. Sportin a black tux, gigs came alive as he swished around the stage thrillin audiences w/ charisma that instantly burnt the oxygen right out of the venue.TR.com

"We're Still Here." I can't wait to see that one live. I expect him to do "No Erasin'" and "No More Cryin'," if/when he makes it to a stage.

The only song I'd want to hear live would be "Sun Shines Gray".

Otherwise, skip the rest of the album.

Man none because they're all weak. I love Perry, and his voice, he sounds great, the material is weak imo. He sounds great, I just don't want a grandpa record. And I can call that cause I'm a grandpa!
