Lukather working on new Van Halen music with Alex Van Halen?

There are rumours on the world wide web that Lukather has joined Alex Van Halen to complete a bunch of songs and recordings started before Ed's passing. Apparently Alex Van Halen has confirmed this to the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, whilst Lukather is reported to have commented affirmatively during Toto's recent tour of Europe.

In lieu of any official confirmation or news, I am not sure what to think although it would surely makes sense if they went down this avenue. @Andrew: Do you have any information to share?

I saw this circulated by some no-name source on social media. I say complete BS! When VH confirms something big it would be through an official channel. Luke also doesn’t have time for this. Just my take.

Yahoo has quotes from Dutch article quoting both Alex and Luke. This -combined with a non-denial from Drew - leads me to believe this is real.

Reports of the pair’s collaboration emerged in the Dutch press earlier this week, with De Telegraf [paywalled] quoting Alex Van Halen as saying, “Ed and Steve Lukather were very good friends and they often worked together. There is no one who can do this process with me as well as he can.”

Lukather, for his part, told De Telegraf: “Did Alex say that? Oh, in that case the news is true,” said Lukather. “Ed, Alex and I were very close for years. It is true that we worked on it together.”

Well good thing is its no more a speculation.....Luke posted a comment on his Instagram pic he posted from Jan27th of him and Ed, basically confirming something is happening and he is not playing a single note on it. Just sort of co-producing it with Alex.
