Ed Asner Family Center benefit show - Sept 9/2023 LA

Postby Marzdog » Mon Sep 11, 2023 1:26 am

Toto performed as part of a benefit show to raise money for the Ed Asner Family Center last night. As we came to find out, Luke was the driving force behind getting this show to happen.

This version of Toto featured Joe, Luke, Paich, Mags, Warren, John Pierce, Jeff Babko (keys), Trev Lukather (guitar), and Gregg Bissonnette on drums. X and Sput had a previously scheduled show in Boston with one of their bands.

Toto went on 3rd of 6, with Hoobastank opening, then Colin Hay. Stone Temple Pilots, Joe Bonnamossa, and Ringo followed.

Toto's setlist was Rosanna, Jake to the Bone (more on this later), and Hold the Line.

The band also backed Bonnamossa and Ringo during their sets. Bonnamossa was quite amazing!

I'll follow up with some pics and vids later.
Great evening for a great cause, and ran into Steve Porcaro!

I felt that Colin Hay was the night's best overall artist, however, Logan really made the show extra meaningful by his performance with Toto.

Lastly, ran into Steve Porcaro at the show as a spectator; was great to meet him!

Thanks for chiming in with this report!

Really enjoying this. A great cause, Ringo, Jake to the Bone for all the right reasons and Steve Porcaro extending his olive branch.
