TOTO at the Hollywood Bowl 09/01/24

Joe's birthday but no birthday sing along...

Shortened set, probably took out a good 25-30 minutes. Show started at 835pm and was over at 10pm sharp. I thought it could've been a curfew thing but was told 1030pm was curfew.

Paich fumbled the opening line to Africa. You could see Luke and Joe looking at each other as if to say "what the fuck did he just sing?"

Sounded great, full crowd with the few instructed view seats not sold.

They did have a special shirt printed for this show, however, it was not on the board at the merch booth. I happened to ask if they had one and the guy said yes.

Thanks for the review! I saw some footage of I'll Supply The Love. Dennis now sings most of it. Sounded good.

How come they shortened the setlist if they still had another half hour to play with? I get that Burn, 1000 Years and Dying are deep album cuts, but these guys can play anything live and make the crowd swing.

That setlist is disappointing, it seems like they turned into Journey that night. Six great albums of material to play after 1992 and not one song off them. Including the two outtakes albums and four regular studio albums. Cover album doesn't count.

I watched the whole show. Nothing less than stellar. Greg's vocal ad libs (ex. Home of the Brave) are a nice touch. Time for a new DVD. With Dennis, they can do alot of Fergie-era and early BK stuff.

I would love to be able to hear Isolation album cuts live. I watched video too and Dennis has the pipes to pull off some great vocals from that album and yes the early BK stuff! Toto is one of the best live bands out today no doubt. Hopefully next year.
