About half of it has been released on various members solo albums. THey aren't done by the Damn Yankees all together, but you can get the general idea behind the songs. Especially if you listen to Damned If You Do and imagine having Jack sing lead.

KLSTRPHNY and Damned If You Do on Ted's Craveman
Yes I Can on Styx's Cyclorama
and Shine On and We Are the Ones on Jack's solo album.

Sounds like next year will see a DY tour...maybe they will be able to knock out a CD too!

this was from kalodner's website back in 2003

question:
Ill keep this short and simple. What are the chances of ever hearing something new from the DAMN YANKEES and do you feel there is room for them in today's music scene. Did they not record a third album? Why was it never released? I am a big fan of the Yankees, Styx and just about anything that has to do with music from Tommy Shaw. Maybe a new solo album!!!!!

------------------
jdk response:
It's possible at some point there may be a new Damn Yankees album, and if so I would certainly sign them to Sanctuary. There was a third Damn Yankees album recorded when I signed them to Portrait Records; I didn't feel the record was good enough and reflective of how great the band is to release it. I consider it an A&R mistake on my part - these things do happen in an A&R person's career. I probably will do a Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw record for Sanctuary this winter, which will be out in the early summer.
---------------------------------

I think I recall Ted not being very fond of the producer/mixer of this 3rd album, stating to the effect that the material was great but they botched it up and if he would have seen the guy he would have killed him ( in only ted fashion of course)

Theres rumuors of a DY tour that would be great !!!!!

Im a big Tommy Shaw fan and would love too see them again. Saw then in Buffalo in 1991 open for Bad Company and thet blew them off the stage. The tickets were like 10.59 or something crazy cheep like that the price was after the radio stations call #'s

Hope this happens !!

I hope their is NOT a tour by the Damn Yankees next year. That would be very bad for Night Ranger. Night Ranger canceled their tour this year and if Jack does Damn Yankees next year that would be two off years for Night Ranger. I think this is all speculation.

You would have to add in Ted Nugent. Then in my opinion the set lists would be too short. I want my Night Ranger alone.

Actually, the Portrait was the 4th DY album. In the haze that WB became in the 90s when Mo Austin left (post-Don't Tread and pre-Shaw/Blades), they at least started to demo a 3rd DY album. I'm not sure how far they go into the process.

The Portrait was all new stuff AFAIK not part of those '93/'94 demos.

The 'missing' DY's cd will never be released. I have heard the guys say so. It doesn't help that the songs were released in various other projects. If they record again it will be all new stuff.....with maybe a couple off the unreleased job being released.
