Has Jeff Watson Left Night Ranger?

Postby RockInDetroit » Fri Sep 01, 2006 11:19 pm

PER THIS WEBSITE:
I thought it was high time for a Night Ranger update. Things have been pretty quiet of late, so it was time once again to try and get Jack Blades on the phone. Perfect timing it seems, as Jack picked up first ring and was in a fine mood for a chat.
And as always is the case, while it seems things are quiet on the outside, that sure isn't the case behind the scenes...so here's that update I know a lot fo you have been hanging out for!

First to Night Ranger - I've received a pretty constant stream of e-mails regarding the band's status and possible line-up changes. Do not worry folks - the new album is still being worked on and it is still on schedule to be released in the first half of next year.
Jack reports that one song has already been completed and mixed and all week Jack, Kelly Keagy, Michael Lardie and Brad Gillis have been working on the album. In fact, when I called Kelly and Michael were right there chatting away in the background.
Yes, there have been some delays getting the album completed, but it is nearly there now and Jack says it will be a great record with all the dual harmonies and dual guitar that Night Ranger fans expect.

I have been speculating that something is going on with Night Ranger that maybe a band member has left and suspiciously Jeff Watson's name is missing from this update. Is he in the band? Doesn't sound like it from this write-up? I hope he is. Jeff was/is such an important member of this band.

Well, Andrew also said the twin guitars that we love will still be in full effect.

That comment has me concerned as well. There is the mention of "dual guitar," but that could just be Brad layering different parts, or the band could have found a new guitarist or used multiple guests. Of course, this is all speculation, but it does seem a bit odd not to mention Jeff. I hope that all is well. I love this band.

Well I did see Night Ranger live about a year ago, and Jeff was still with the band then. So unless something has happened between then and now .........
