New releases from Night Ranger

Postby Angiekay » Thu Apr 05, 2007 12:56 am

Looks like no Jeff. :(

Night Ranger is preparing to release a pair of albums in the near future. One is a studio album titled Hole In The Sun, that will come out on April 26th in Europe and Japan, with a U.S. release expected in May. The group also plans to put out a live album recorded in 2003 in Tokyo, and a title and release date for that are still being determined.

Hole In The Sun features 11 tracks, and singer-bassist Jack Blades told us that it's "probably the hardest rocking Night Ranger record since, like Dawn Patrol (in 1982). We sort of went for the throat on it. I just felt like pushing that button."

Besides Blades, Night Ranger's current lineup includes founding guitarist Brad Gillis and drummer Kelly Keagy, along with former Great White keyboardist Michael Lardie.
Night Ranger kicks off its 2007 tour on May 5th in Caruthersville, Missouri.

No dual guitars? That's not Night Ranger.

Didn't the interviews Drew posted recently have recent pics of the band that included Jeff?

Why? Why would anyone perform in Caruthersville? It's in the middle of nowhere!

Also, NIG is right. Night Ranger without the two guitars simply isn't Night Ranger.

There are dual guitars all over the album, but I guess that Jeff won't be touring with the band. :(

I wish that they'd have the balls to make an official statement one way or another. We've been wondering for a while. :?

Jeff's 8-finger hammers are NR's signature. :? That and Gillis' whammy bar. This sucks.

The ONLY guy who comes to mind who might be available, who would be a suitable temporary fill-in would be Reb Beach. Obviously, in a perfect world, it would be Steve Vai or Eric Johnson.

Jeff is on the cd. I don't know if he finished the cd but at one point he was in the studio. if jeff aint in Night Ranger it totally sucks. If you go to Night Ranger's Myspace website Jeff is no longer listed as a member. To me that was lame of the guys. Leave him on there til you make an announcement. This just causes speculation. And really the guys look like the are just playing games.

RID, I agree. Without my customary stage right, three rows back seat from which to watch (like a slack jawed yokel) Jeff nail the axe), I don't even know if I'd be willing to make a road trip to see them.
