Kelly and Jack's solo cds

Postby Abitaman » Mon Jan 10, 2005 12:32 pm

Any one got a comment on them. I have them both and Kelly's sounds more like Night Ranger's than Jacks. But I tend to like Jacks a little better. Both have good songs and production, though Kelly's seems a little muddled in parts, vocals get lost.-ERIC

I have them both, along with Brad Gillis's Alligator album. THey are all fantatsic. I too lean towards Jack's. Alot of the reviews I read seems to complain that he was venturing into both modern and classic rock styles, but since I quite enjoy both, I had no problem with it. Kelly's I tend to lose interest in towards the end, I think right after Wrong Again my interest fades, not really sure why, I like the songs, but they can't hold my interest beyond that point. Brad's album is awesome. All crazy guiotars and Gary Moon's screaming vocals. Fantastic.

I did not know Brad had on, how long ago did this come out ? And is he the singer on it.
I have the same problem with Kelly's cd. It starts off with a bang, but the songs go from great to ok at the end. No big finish.-ERIC

All 3 have been on my list of things to buy...but at the top of that list was a house! So everything else has to wait...:( I am especially interested in Jack's because of his collaborations with Neal Schon (obviously).

I've had it Jack's solo album on MP3 since it was released, but I just got around to buying it and actually listening to it. I think it's a phenomenal album, and the contributions for Damon Johnson were excellent. It's a damn shame that the 3rd Damn Yankees album never saw the light of day.

Gilrock Ranch isn't bad either. I LOVE 'Honest To God' with Allman on vocals.

I only have the Jack Blades one... excellent!
His son Colin's is very good, too.
