Jack in Rock Of Ages

I don't know if Andrew has this upfront, but I'll post it here anyway:

Night Ranger frontman Jack Blades is stepping up to a new challenge starting this weekend. He'll be on stage as usual, but instead of playing with a band, Blades will be acting for the first time when he appears in the role of Dennis Dupree in the '80s musical called Rock Of Ages. Blades said that when he was asked to join, he said yes right away because he was totally into what they had done in Los Angeles:

"I had seen the show twice, and I just absolutely loved the show. The first time I went to the show, it was with (Styx singer-guitarist) Tommy Shaw -- I mean, we just loved it. We thought it was great. Then the next time I went, I took (Journey guitarist) Neal Schon with me, and (drummer) Kelly Keagy from Night Ranger. And we just absolutely loved it. You know, it's sort of like what (Motley Crue singer) Vince Neil said: 'I lived the '80s on Sunset Strip, now you can, too!'"

Rock Of Ages will run at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday (May 13th and 14th), then from Tuesday through next Saturday (May 16th to the 20th).

The show features hits including Journey's "Don't Stop Believin,'" Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again," Joan Jett's "I Hate Myself For Loving You," and Poison's "Nothin' But A Good Time," as well as two songs that Blades knows very well -- "Sister Christian" from Night Ranger, and "High Enough" from Damn Yankees, his group with Tommy Shaw and Ted Nugent.

Geez, sounds like he should be starring in a one-man show called "Name Drop Theater".

Jack hangs out with Steven Tyler, too. So what? My cousin used to know this guy whose girlfriend's ex-fiancee's brother-in-law was a roadie for a band whose guitar tech mixed Colin Blades' best friends' debut album.
