I believe this is the first recording with Todd on drums although he is not credited.

That's what made me listen to the song. Todd was talking about it in an interview. Styx thought the song would require two drum passes. Todd said he could do it in one and amazed them. Though didn't Lady '95 come first?

I had forgotten about Lady 95. I didn't know Todd played on that that.

I was there too, at The World Music Theatre in Tinley Park

I was there too! Drove all the way from Tennessee. Was going to drive by myself and I told a friend about it he said "Styx in Chicago??? I'M IN!" and we went. Also went the next night in Millwaukee. It was actually a fan StyxCon. We met a bunch of other fans and had a get together. Probably around 20-30 of us all stayed at the same hotel, watched VHS videos, traded bootleg tapes and posters, etc. I enjoyed the Millwaukee show better because it was indoors and we had better seats. I still have both of my Edge tour shirts and they still fit but I don't wear them anymore.

yeh i actually got to meet him on that tour in Cincy and when I walked away, both my brother and I said, man he doesnt look well. he played great that night, but meeting him up close and personal worried me regarding his health.

I remember on RockLine in 1990 all of them were on the show. They asked what everyone was doing and when they got to John they said "so what have you been up to?" and it was dead silent. I thought it kind of odd. Then he said "well, I've been practicing and my arms hurt for 3 weeks.... This is Chuck by the way" and they all laughed and then moved on. I also thought it odd that he got "help" during the drum part (on the tour) of "World Tonight" but it was also a pretty cool mini-solo from John.

Actually have edge of the century tour with world tonight and their greatest hits tour or think it's the Grand Illusion tour 20th anniversary something like that it has little Susie

Mike - According to a FB post from Dennis, (I believe it was re-posted a few weeks ago) John actually played on "It Takes Love", and it was the last track he performed with with the band. Dennis says he was in the studio with him, and although not in the greatest shape, he managed to get through the song.

With that said, I went back and listened to the Son Of Edge Version of "It Takes Love" - No drums, no guitar solo. Then listening to the GH2 version - WOW. Keeping Glen's vocals, adding in JY and Tommy's (Especially Tommy's) everything just "Clicked". Tommy's guitar solo, etc. I know it's technically Glen's song, but what DDY did to "tweak" it from that Demo was Brilliance.

I believe Keith Marks said he was one of the other "percussionists" so maybe the other fellow was John Drum Tech?
