 Cool. Very cool. 8)

I'm hoping to right behind you in about 2 months.

Dude, things must look DECENT for an interview, if you have the record right now, right :?: That is, assuming you didn't steal it (kidding. can never resist an Elliot joke). Take questions from us to them.

I'm assuming its Survivor. New member here but NOT new to Survivor.

So what about some small titbit of your observation of it. Does it take some time to grow or its just smack rockin'? 8)

I'll have some thoughts this afternoon for you.
Another 2 or 3 spins needed first.

PS. Watch the front page later today :)

Yeah, especially when you have been following the band through the news after all the "mess", waiting patiently all these years for something to flavor.

Ever since there was the attempt for the "Rocket Science" record that never saw the light of day. And here I am to know that I (who has conversed with Frankie and Marc D. all those years ago), don't even get a sample. So secretive things have been, it hurts.

Finally though its fruition will come. :P

Just for the record - my copy comes from working closely with the record label. Not from the band.

I remain in good contact with Jimi J - who is a dead set legend in my book, but I haven't heard from Frankie S in several years.

Advance copies for all that label's press contacts will no doubt be sent out in the coming weeks.

I'll add some thoughts this afternoon.

I have run out of time to post my thoughts.

I have however, just updated the frontpage with a news item containing 5 samples from the album.

I will sign off with this one comment - I am disappointed. A dozen plays into this album and I have to be honest and say that I am disappointed.

Reasons and details tomorrow.

Well Andrew I think the stuff is GREAT. Sorry you don't feel it. If I could pick one it would be GIMME THE WORD.

The rest are still pretty good, no...VERY satisfying. I think this record will sell in the bigger market place, not necessarily in the Classic rock arena.

Im thankful to Frontier records for releasing them.

Thanks for your opinion, but Im happy to disagree!

Listening to the final versions of the songs and some that I havn't heard... I must say as one of the mosy hardcore survivor fan's I must say.... SURVIVOR IS BACK!!!!! GET READY TO SEE SOME OF THESE SONGS IN THE TOP 10 CHARTS!!! I must also say that Jamo's voice is really better than dave's on FMS and Seconds Away!

Hello there survivorfan2005. :) I couldn't agree with you more! Its seems we have same notion, about how good they sound. And I give you props for going against the grain to say that JJ sounds better, and you know what? I'm with you on that as well.

Dave is my fav. Survivor vocalist, but JJ fits the bill just as well. They sound great, enough to get Survivor back in the Charts. I mean it. Charts, that's Billboard we're talking about!!!

Seconds Away is a gem, sounds a bit like Peter Gabriel had a hand in it or something, he he!

The sounds in all the tunes so far, have a FULL feel to them and its like they spent a few million to make sound that much richer (to those who want a more organic sound may not be as excited though, I think).

But I can't get enough of Gimmie the Word in particular, the vocals, the base, the harmony, brilliant! FS sizzles no doubts there.

Maybe I'm just going over the top, but I really dig the sounds.

Frontiers better push this record as hard as they can, it will be worth it!

And now, back to the tunes, the tunes, the vibe I need MORE!!! After all its the music we want and forget the politics (in the band, their past, feelings about band members, grudges, etc leave it all behind) - Not referring to anyone in particular;but in case there is apparent negativity on that front, block it out!

Back to the MUSIC!

PEACE out!

Sounds phenomenal to me. I like the title track VERY much from what's on offer by Andrew on the front page.

Holy Shit :!: :!:
Fire Makes Steel is smoldering. Jamo's vox build and build.... the guitar intro's dramatically menacing.... LOVE this clip.

I listened as well. Even thought they are just samples, they just don't seem to go anywhere.

I agree with Andrew, nothing jumps out at you.

I think Reach is straightforward and jumps out. FMS's a little more complex, slow building right now (based on the 90 seconds) but that is by no means a drawback to me. I love that intro and the building urgency.

Man...the samples rock in my opinion! Of course, if the only rockers we heard were the ones Andrew has sampled out for us, that will be kind of disappointing. But other than that, I can't see how this record would be a disappointment.

I like the samples. Sounds much like the Survivor I have heard before.

I think the new Toto CD has raised the bar in Andrew's mind too high for other bands to reach! :P

Yeah, the Toto album is by far the best I have heard in awhile. That is definitely on my list of albums to purchase.

NIG, I think Andrew is biased as all Hell, but I luv the guy. Toto are just great musicians by fail as a "true rock act" IMO.. fuck em.

Greggie, did I send you boots? let me know.

Survivor sounds dull to me now..

I say get jimmie jamison and put him in Journey and cut Curls...

Wow, Jimi in Journey. That would be weird! Kind of like a Paul Rodgers + Queen thing.

Jamo's voice is too different. Journey needs someone that sounds like augeri/perry. If a survivor singer were to supplant augeri it would be Bickler.

It dosn't matter what the critics say now or will say in the future we all know that this album is going to the charts, can't wait to see the band on one of the late night shows!

Remember, some artists like journey and even toto are trying to satisfy what is in style or whatever (they're both great bands) but Survivor lives up to it's name and legacy by not caring what's in style but sticking to the music that has helped so many people in defining life moments while at the same time giving the fans what they want.

Sure, Survivor is not as big as we would like them to be (especially in a music generation of rap and rock that can't even be understood) but I believe this album will show the critics and fans alike that music isn't about the money or the fame, it's about stating that music is only real if the listener can feel it. From what i've felt personally and a lot of people that I know who have heard the samples this CD is going to surpass their previous albums (probobly even Vital Signs).

Journey doesn't cowtow, either. Listen to Generations.

I'm liking REACH even a little better than FMS right now as far as the clips go.
The rockers are good...

Again, you've said it, I agree TOTALLY!

With regards to the songs going nowhere  Come now, we've only heard 90 seconds. So far its sounds great, however certainly not enough to warrant negativity, IMO. But Let's hear FULL thing and then decide whether its goes "nowhere".

Im not biased (believe what anyone will), but FS is no fool. He knows what will WORK.
