Jimi Jamison Band

Hey guys, new here but been watching for a while. I'm a big survivor fan.

Just letting you know I was over at concertshowsmagazine.com and they have a poster of Jimi Jamison and his new Jimi Jamison Band available for gigs. It says he will still play with Survivor but I am wondering if this why Survivor is not playing? Between his new band and the nightclub he mentioned in the interview with Jimi. What's going on. I love Survivor.

This is troubling. He's basically doing a Survivor set.

If there is something going on, again, we'll probably not find out about it until after it's over. All that legal crap.

In any case, I still love them and I'm so glad I got a new album which I think is fantastic.

I sure don't see where it says he will still play with Survivor! Please point that out. I KNEW IT! I knew something was going on and it's not good! What is up with this band? It's like a soap opera. I thought JJ and FS were like brothers? Yeah, right!

What's more bizarre is the survivormusic.com website.
It's down and says Coming Soon, New Site, New Info and New News. What is going on?????????????? :shock:

Rebel Girl- In the 3rd sentence of whoever wrote the article, it says that Jimi is still singing with Survivor. I guess they contacted someone. Don't know. I really am a big Survivor fan and hope everyone is ok.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS JUST THERE AND IT WAS THE OLD SITE!!!!!! MAYBE DAVE IS COMING BACK!!!!

Just wishful thinkin. If I was Dave I'd tell FS to F@!* off! Thanks robg for showing me where it was, I missed that line. I hope all is well with the band too, I really do.

I smelled a rotting fish a few days ago when JJ's new flash site came up and there was no sign of the fact that he was in a group called Survivor. I figured something big was happening behind the scenes. I do hope Dave Bickler would be back in the band if JJ is out but it gets to be a little ridiculous.

I don't know about you guys but I have a real problem with JJ singing EOTT! I mean, why?? He didn't make this song famous, yet everywhere he goes, he seems to sing it. He was not part of that song what so ever. I can see him doing songs that he sang, but not that one.

Good point. He has even said several times that he never cared for the song. I guess in the end it comes down to money. People want to hear the hits of Survivor and if he doesn't do EOTT, they will probably be pissed...they may not even show up if they are casual fans.

lilking. I know he has to perform it at Survivor shows, that's a given. But when he goes out doing his solo thing by himself, he seems to always do that song. Why? So people would know he was part of Survivor? He's got all kinds of his own songs, plus the songs that he did with Survivor, but why EOTT? Just bugs me that's all.

OK...I was just over to ConcertShows Magazine. They have an announcement over there that Jimi Jamison has been replaced by Robin Mc Auley. They seem to have some kind of advance information but apparently there is a news story in Guitars Magazine at http://www.modernguitars.com/archives/002090.html about Survivor announcing a new lead singer, base player and new 2007 studio album.

What happened?????????

My opinion it is fine if he places EOTT. Survivor rerecorded it with Jimi on vocals and the guy has been performing it live for many years. If you say he can't play it than that is saying no band should cover other bands famous songs. I hope he continues to play it because if I had a choice to see Jimi in concert or the new Survivor I see Jimi. Go Jimi!

I have no problem with Jimi Jamison singing EOTT. He didn't make the song famous the first time around, but he's spent more time singing it and keeping the memories stoked, it's as much his song NOW as it is David Bickler's.

Its not HIS song no matter how long he's done it, nor is it Bickler's. Its Peterik/Sullivan's. Well, technically JJ nor DB can say that right?
