Jimi with Journey? lol, if he had trouble with his high notes as of recent with Survivor songs, imagine his voice on "Don't Stop Believin" :P

Timing

Does anyone wonder if the two tracks sung by Frankie were actually sung by him because Jim was already on the way out? They didn't present it that way, but it sure looks suspicious now. I wonder when the rift started again.

Why not have Survivor release a US only album before Rocky comes out and get Robin to do FMS and some demos or whatever just in time for the movie. That way they could use the new singer on the soundrack and make up for REACH not being released. It only took a few months for REACH to be made. On another note, survivormuusic.com has been updated with Notes from Frankie... I believe that he is very sincere and honost about what happened and he seems very confident of Robin. I say let's fans back him up. No matter who sings, no matter who listens, no matter what the critics say, this is Survivor

If anyone wants to hear a sample of what the new Survivor will sound like check out Robin's CD "Business as Usual" because Frankie helped write and perform songs on the album.

Hm.
They're putting that on their website....maybe hope yet.

It's bizarre. 3 months ago Frankie's Reach Eurohypemachine was in overdrive (of course a US releae was not talked of) 4 days ago, Reach literally CEASED to exist.

Now we have Rocky clips on the internet site set to Fire Makes Steel off Reach.

I like this line from Frankie, talking about taking time off to go to Florida, because the phone was ringing off the hook...

"... Now, being somewhat of a responsible businessman... " - When did that start?

I have been only one month away in summer vacation and during that time both Journey and Survivor have changed vocalists, wow! Amazing how drastic changes may happen in such a short period. Well, I was a bit suspicious when I first read Andrew saying that Jimi´s interview was not very enthusiastic. I was thinking how this is possible that quys have excellent new album out and still their singer isn´t excited at all. First thing that came to my mind was could this mean return of Eye Of The Tiger -lineup which could give them some extra publicity with the movie. Well, obviously I was wrong about the reason why Jimi left but I can´t say being surprised now when it has happened. But I´m not going to be negative about this change, I wish all the best for Survivor boys with Robin on vocals.

Yep, but in hindsight, though JJ was still technically in the band probably at the time of the interview, the arrangement for him to be replaced was probably all worked out hence his detatchment about Reach in the interview. According to JJ's release, he was out as of "early in 2006" which means the shows he played with the band through June, maybe even the album release in April he was in the band on a very temporary, business-only purely window-dressing, professional basis.

Well, Im not into the politics of the break up with JJ,but I guess 6 years touring , can get tiring and monotonous. It was just time to move on and although there are the negatives, FS says if that is dwelved on, things get stagnant. The main point is there is no ill will between JJ and FS and he want to put that straight;regardless of what is coming out of the JJ camp.

Let's see how long RM stays

I've been noticing a lot of discontent here between us fans. I just want to point out that it dosn't matter who's the better singer or not. Jimi was a great singer and still is just as Dave & Robin are both great singers. As we've seen before bands change linups all of the time such as Journey. One thing however shouldn't change and that's the music.

As long as the music sounds good and people enjoy it then it shouldn't matter. We have to let it be that JJ has left Survivor and Robin is in. We have to all agree that this is a new era in their lives and they still are Survivor whether or not they are in the band or not, if you miss their vocals their's always the cd's :) . Jimi and Dave are in our memories and what great ones they are.

However, they are still around and giving those great vocals on different projects. A lot of people are criticizing Frankie but remember at least he's still playing and doing what he can to please the fans. All i'm asking is for us to just get together and support all of the vocalists werever they may be, support frankie and his decisions (good or bad) and just do as we've always done, support the music that is Survivor and keep that American Heartbeat alive.

Yeah, I strongly agree. I´m also big Journey fan but I haven´t posted to that forum for a very long time due to that disrespecting garbage that have been going on there. The way Steve Augeri was treated in that forum when he had those voice problems made me see red. So let´s not make same mistakes Journey fans did on their forum.
