I just posted this in the YouTube area, but I'm cross posting it here.

Sorry about the HTML... I'm hoping one of the admins can add that tag to acceptable HTML. It's a lot of work to recode it all!!!

Shania, hey there! This is the first time I've ever been over here. I have one song by Survivor after I saw the video (High on You) on VH1 Classics a year or two ago & just was listening to it again...decided to look into Jimi Jamison & see that video again - what a great voice! :)
Thanks!

I don't think it was aweful. It's just the times. Videos were new then. Love Dave's GANGSTA hat:)

Ah, you make a good point. Videos from that era all were a bit uh... stylized... for lack of a better word. I had not seen that one before, though, and it took me by surprise with the whole... uh... "plot". LOL

I remember in Grade eight writing a report about Duran Duran's "Hungry Like the Wolf" video, and the teacher was just shaking his head because he didn't understand it at all. I think I grew up to be that guy. LOL

I don't know...I love the 80's, love that Album, love that song and love Dave and all, but that video is pretty bad...

Probably a Frankie thing...

You know it's not talked about that much, but if you ask me one of the biggest mistakes they ever made as with the "Eye of the Tiger" video. I read an interview with JP were he basically said that Frankie refused to have clips of the movie in that video. That whole deal was so popular back then and that movie and all, and video was a huge deal then. I think that if they had used some of those awesome clips of Rocky and Mr. T and all, and also used shots of the band singing, that Video would have been played a LOT more....as it would have been better.....

If you don't believe the difference, go to YouTube and look at the difference in the Burning Heart Video with the movie clips and without....

All I'm saying is that through the Rocky deal, the band could have gotten more exposure to the general public and who know, CITG might have been a better success. THe problem was they just became a faceless band I guess. I don't know why, I bought the EYE album and loved it front to back...I'm just saying, with an opportunity like that you take it and use it to promote yourself...I guess good ole frankie didn't want to give his airtime to Carl Weathers....

I agree with you there totally on Eye! But they may not have had any control over the video thing. I know alot of bands just kinda do what the directors tell them. They really aren't actors. I know very little who can really act well. Only one that comes to mind is maybe Geoff Tate, I kinda think of him as a theatrical kinda guy, but most of them don't like the videos, they look so stiff. Know what I'm trying to say?

I know what you are saying, but I read an interview where Jim Peterik bascially said that that's what the label wanted, but Frankie said no to using Rocky III clips because he wanted to spot light the band only...BAD MISTAKE..one of a few....
