Update -- the Pete Mendillo site said he'd be in Beaumont TX on Friday the 13th, but there was no information as to venue. I"m going to be in that part of the world then, so I planned to go. I'm meeting up with a friend from Texas there and she found THIS:

April 13-15, 2007
Ford Park
Beaumont, Texas
"Salute to Our Veterans"

The third annual Cowboys on the Coast rally “Salutes our Veterans.” Our hope is to recognize the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our country and protecting our freedom throughout history. A special Veteran’s Memorial Ride has been planned for Saturday. A number of services and displays honoring Veterans will be held throughout the weekend. New to this year’s rally is a “Most Patriotic” Tattoo contest, and a new category for the bike show “Most Patriotic Bike.”

The entertainment line-up begins with Jimi Jamison headlining Friday night. Jamison, previously with Survivor, is an acclaimed top male vocalist. He brings a strong powerful performance featuring a long line of popular hits including: “Burning Heart”, “I’m Always Here”, “Ready to Ride”, “Rebel Son”, and “Rhythm of the City”. On Saturday the stage ignites with legendary rocker Brian Howe, former lead singer of Bad Company. He’s most remembered for hits like “Can’t Get Enough”, “Ready for Love”, “Bad Company”, “Holy Water” and “No Smoke Without Fire.”

Warming up the stage for these two headliners is Geneva, down from Nashville promoting their CD “Full Throttle”. This band has a history of supporting our troops since they were honored as the first band to entertain our troops in Iraq in 2003. Also taking the stage this year is the regional sensation Navasota-Rio. This band has a rich history and deep roots in classic rock. They’ll raise the roof and get folks moving with their mix of classic favorites and homegrown originals. The rally features all-day entertainment showcasing a number of local and regional bands

This year, Team Extreme Trials returns to the rally showcasing their incredible riding skills featuring balance, maneuvers and jumps. These are feats most riders only dream of acquiring. Come watch and enjoy, but be careful, they may ask you to become a part of the show. Multiple show times on Friday and Saturday.

Plan to attend this year’s Cowboys on the Coast, a true down home Texas rally, with bike shows, bike games, scavenger hunt, poker shoot and Cowboy Church.

***

I absolutely cannot BELIEVE I'm attending an event that has a "most patriotic tattoo" contest. Oh my.

I saw Survivor in the summer of '05 with Loverboy and they absolutely f***ing ROCKED. JJ was phenomenal. I will never EVER pay to see Survivor with anyone other than Dave or (preferably) Jimi singing.
