Not really. My knowledge comes from the front row. Actual contact with the group. So your knowledge comes from stadium seating. Now please for everyone's sake, go back to your air guitar.

Hey, shorty, give it a rest. I've been to 20 Survivor shows in my life. You haven't posted one thing I didn't already know. Just because I DO NOT LIKE the present incarnation of the band does not discount me as a hardcore fan. And I do play a 6 and 7 string axe; not very well, but well enough to play rhythm guitars in my bands. Let's face it, though, at the end of the day, NOTHING beats jammin' on an air guitar.

HA! Now I'll pop the top on a Blue Moon to that. :)

I am off to check out Slander's link now....the word "intersting" has the needles jumping on the detector.

JOPA did you read POL interview? Interested in getting your impressions on Peterik's comments on Survivor not going in the direction he would have liked. Say what you want about Peterik, he's class. He holds his cards tightly to the vest.

JP is an exceptionally talented man and a class act and I think the fact that he hasn't listened to the new line up and that he said he was afraid it would upset him is very interesting.

I don't think Frankie is sitting around listening to that Broadway musical known as Pride of Lions on his IPOD either.

Sheryl why don't you finish. JP said Robin is great! Pretty selective on your part. Do you just make this stuff up as you go or does not telling the whole story come easy for you? I will remind you again that Jimi was not the original Survivor sound. That original sound will always belong to Dave Bickler. So don't play this card.

Slander I think you just like to play the role of devil's advocate and stir the pot, Yes he did say Robin is a great singer but he also said he hasn't listened he was afraid it would upset him. I said it was interesting and it is, take a chill pill.

Wrong again, Slander. To test your "Dave" theory. I've asked five friends of mine (all of them 80's rock diehards) to name the first six Survivor songs that come to mind. The answers?

Eye of the Tiger (5)...Dave
Burning Heart (5)...Jimi
I Can't Hold Back (5)...Jimi
High On You (5)...Jimi
The Search is Over (5)...Jimi
Desperate Dreams (3)...Jimi
How Much Love (1)...Jimi
Across the Miles (1)...Jimi

Let's see, Kevin Sullivan...that's SEVEN Jimi songs and ONE Dave song. Granted, EOTT is ALWAYS the first song mentioned, but Dave had no involvement with writing that song. A lot of people prefer Jimi's version of EOTT (although I'm not one of them).

Just because Dave recorded the first four albums does NOT make him the "orginial" voice of Survivor. Most of thoese records barely sold 250,000 units. All three of the Jimi-fronted albums went platinum. That's like saying that Robert Fleischman is the "original" voice of Journey. Stop smoking that shit dude, because it fucks up your mind and alters your ability to process logical thought.

Look at the RIAA numbers, you idiot. If you count the European sales, the discrepancy is even higher.

Too Hot To Sleep did not go plantinum. My god even the band is quote many times about how disappointed they were that the album did not sell. I repeat did not go platinum. Neither did WSC. If you can't supply evidence than your argument, to be blunt, is shite.

I try not to get to involved in all of this, but I'm sorry, recording the first four albums would make you the original singer...I'm not sure there is anyway around that...That's like saying that Payton Manning is the original QB for the colts...he might be the best one...but he's not the original...

The inference with Sir Slander's definition is that he utilizes "original" in the sense that it is the most readily identifiable sound of Survivor - in other words, that his voice is the one people would recognize as Survivor's. My counterpoint was that that is simply not true - almost every song people remember is from the Jamison era. As usual, Slander is 100% incorrect.

So 7 now you are a mind reader and an idiot? You have no clue what I was inferring. Dave is the original voice of Survivor. He was for the first 4 albums. He sang the bands biggest hit. He is the bands most indentifiable voice? I think most indentify the band with EOTT. Sorry, that song was Bickler's!

Slander, your put-downs would be so much more valid and venemous if you actually knew basic elementary-school level grammar, and didn't make six or seven spelling errors per sentence.

Ouch! 7 you really got me there. Your put downs are no substitute for facts. You are wrong about Too Hot Too Sleep. You are wrong about When Seconds Count. You continue to make it up as you go.
