Five hours of Survivor...

Postby montyollie » Fri Apr 06, 2007 10:00 pm

Okay, I've embarked on my cross-country road trip, and the first leg of it is 8 hours to New Jersey to pick up my travelling companions. I only made five hours yesterday, as I'm never 100% after work and I have crappy night vision on the highway. Anyhow, I did five hours last night alone, and after greasing the wheels by listening to Journey's Greatest Hits once through, I put on my Survivor/Jimi playlist on random.

Albums on that playlist:
Empires
EOTT
THTS
CITG
Reach
Premontion
Greatest Hits
and a couple from the Live in Tokyo recording

Now THAT was a nice drive!!! I know my travelling companions are not going to go for hours upon hours of Survivor (hey, I don't expect anyone to love the band like I do HA) so I had to get while the getting was good.

Here's what stood out for me.

A couple of tracks off Reach -- Half of my Heart, The Rythm of My Heart... plus the ones I like anyhow... One More Chance... MAN I like that album.

I'm also completely in love with almost everything on Empires. Except for that stupid Baywatch song. I got Empires before I got THTS, and I prefer the live version of "Too Hot to Sleep" to the album version for sure.

ALSO

Holy crap with Jackie Don't Go, Santa Ana Winds and I Never Stopped Loving You. I REALLY like CITG. Red13JoePa was right... it's sneaky good. Wow.

Three more hours alone in the car today. Then I'll probably have to be sympathetic to the consensus in the car. DRAT. HAHAH JK.

great to hear you jammin the guys and having yourself a time but Empires was NOT a Survivor record/album. It was a Jimi Jamison solo album he called Jimi Jamisons' Survivor or just Survivor and the album was Titled Empires. It was later changed to just JJ which was the right move all along.

Just wanted to correct ya as this was NEVER a Survivor album Survivor in 1999 was Frankie Sullivan, David Bickler, Chris Grove, Marc Droubay, and Billy Ozzello.
