SLANDER WROTE: "I will give Robin an opportunity to record material that was written for him."

I preferred the Bickler sang versions of all the songs on Reach that were originally done by Dave the Real Man of Genius lol. However, I think FMS with Jamo was cool. Not as good as Dave's but, had a different yet still cool vibe and I thought anyways, it was cool and Jamo sounded good on it.

I Really think now that "One More Chance" is just a gorgeous song and I never knew about it til obv. it was on the new album Reach. I thought Jimi's performance on that was average. He didn't use real voice for any higher parts he used head instead. Which, shows he's lost alot of range to me. I hated the bridge vocal of that song when he sounded like he was gargling razor blades! lol But, overall a good tune he just didn't take it vocally where it should've gone for me.

He doesn't "suck" not at all. Just not even the singer he was 7 or 8 yrs ago let alone 20. It happens to everyone. Jimi can still rock n roll is a great frontman when he wants to be and can sing well. Just well, not like he used too.

"Seconds Away" is the one song I thought that had a very cool updated version n sound to it. Once again I luv the Dave Bickler version of it but Here I think Jimi also hits a homerun and really with Franks new intro n overall production upgrade this is a favorite on the cd for me.

I also think "Reach" as corny of a song as it is is a classic "Survivor/Rocky " tune. Better than tiger not as good as "Burning farts" but, I like this song. first 6 songs are really good l ike i said and I really do think Reach a decent album . not great not even a rock album sadly but really okay. Could've n Should've been better but...I still dig it.

BTW, what you like is what you like. I said it before I'll say it again. How can you condemn or celebrate ANYONE when they have yet to record n release a full length new album when the other guys got 4 albums each + tours to boot with Survivor???

It may not be your cup of tea as they say but, Robin is a great fucking singer. A hard rock singer who's tryin' to make the switch. I say give him a chance b4 you say he sucks ass or can't do it. Thats just my take.

Postby lukather4prez » Wed May 30, 2007 12:13 am

I don't have it heard a couple songs off it the singles like 18 yrs ago n liked what i heard. nothing but great things to say about him and I like his style, voice and all that...not sure if he's 100% right for the gig but, I will give him a fair shake. I like him on certain songs and others...eehhhh not so much.

c.m.

p.s. is it worth getting slander???

I think it is worth getting because of Frankie's signature sound. I think this is what Survivor will sound like. I may be wrong.

I agree....probably a good indication of a new sound to come...pretty good record too...a few fillers, but pretty strong record and good sound.
