Survivor Rocks Stanwood, Washington August 4th, 2007

Let me first by saying that my favorite line up was with Dave. My favorite album is CITG. I recognize Jimi Jamison as I tremendous vocalist. Vital Signs is an aor classic. I want to get that out of the way because I have no doubt I will face criticism over this review. I was there front row Saturday night to see Survivor play in tiny Stanwood, Washington. Stanwood is about 45 minues north of Seattle. It is no doubt maybe the smallest staged venues the group has ever played. The intimacy however added to the enjoyment of the concert. Myself and my significant other were able to talk and take photo's with the band prior to the concert. Great guys. The setlist has been posted already so I will not repeat it here. The band was full steam ahead from the very first song Burning Heart. It was non-stop energy and FUN! For those of you who have complained about Frankie's long guitar solo's in the past. Those are gone and replaced by shorter solo's that truly show off his shredding ability. He is da' man. And Robin what can I say about Robin. Always a smile on his face, constantly moving around. Energy, fun, and sincerity are the words that come to my mind. I'll be honest The Search Is Over is not one of my favorite songs but Robin pulls it off. He picked 2 or 3 women in the audience to serenade. It was terrific showmanship. Robin also proved to be a pro when a drunken idiot got on stage during Fire Makes Steel. Robin smiled and continued about his business. Of course Tiger was the finally and Frankie wandered into the crowd and played guitar! I had never seen him do that before. It was terrific. I am very impressed by Survivor. Very entertaining show. I can not wait until there is a new album. My only knock on the show is that I wish it was a little longer but as they say leave them begging for more. Give these guys a chance. You won't regret it. If anyone wants pics I took about 100.

Thanks for that Slander. Robin has got Search in his own unique way and I have no doubt even if he was the original singer, it would have been a big hit anyway.

Frankie playing into the crowd is something I believe he has done before, but when he did those blues nos. when Dave came back. It was about time!

What about Marc? A little about him would be great.

Nice touch with a little background of the venue. 8)

A 100 pics? That's all? Just kidding!

Perhaps you can post some on Webshots.com or Flickr. I know the former one can put atleast 1000 pics for free. and then post the web address accordingly here. Hope you'll do it.

Yeah my significant other was like 'PUT DOWN THE CAMERA AND WATCH THE DAMN SHOW' LOL. I was standing in the front row so I couldnt' resist. Some good pics though! Frankie in the crowd was awesome. I shook Marc's hand backstage he seems very nice. After the show he walked out front and tossed his sticks (pretty customary). It was my first time meeting him. I had met Chris before briefly. I think he and I talked about football back in 2002 when I was backstage. Anyway I want to stress how much fun the guys were having. I also think they had no clue how small this venue was. I've been in bigger bars! LOL. The intimacy was great however. I can't stress how much Robin adds energy and positive vibe to the band. My significant other isn't a fan of Survivor but she said she was blown away by how good he was.
