They did say WELL over a year ago that were to be heading into the McStudio soon to McRecord and McHoped a new McAlbum would be out in Mc2007. Of course that's not a promise but not only does your comment that no one promised a new album contradict those statements, it also contradicts your previous repeated statements of excitement for the new mcalbum.

I'm not Frankie sycophantic enough to be dazzled and amazed that he is producing something other than what he said he'd be working on 14 months ago, for another band and just chalk it up to "Oh well. This is GREAT ANYWAY. He's producing now!"

JOPA you are crazy if you don't think I want a new album and soon. I was merely pointing out that it wasn't promised. I also understand that they are working on something. It is more than likely going to be out in 2008. That's what I hear.

Based on history.

What do YOU base your contention of the likelihood of 2008 on? The 20 year anniversary of the last album US fans have seen?

1. Based on What I hear. 2. It is clear that this band is busier, more energized, on and on. If you guys can't see how different things are at this moment than I really think you need to take a step back and be more objective.

I understand the frustration. I for one wish the band were a littl more open with information. If there were more info than maybe their wouldn't be so much speculation and frustration. Having said that FS is a fairly private guy and I respect that. I deep down truly believe we will be hearing new music from the band. For now we've got Jimi's new track. I would hope JJ fans would be thrilled about that.

I don't care if they're more communicative or not.

I don't care if Frankie's such a private guy he has landmines buried in his lawn.

I don't care if he's a deep thinker who is close to figuring out Stonehenge.

I don't care if he's an intense dude who can actually meditate himself into a spec of matter on the wings of a fly.

I don't care if he's prushing buttons and turning knobs.

I don't care if he's a fitness guru but still looks like the crypt keeper.

I just want follow through and delivery on promises to record and release new material he mentioned so enthusiastically 14 months ago.

It's going to happen. By the way many artists produce other records and work on their own. Mick Jones is a great example. He worked on VH 5150.

Yep, Mick Jones co produced 5150 for VH.

Inside Information came out the year after.

I defy Survivor to get an album out next year after Frankie "Mutt Lange" Sullivan is done his hobby project.

By the way, post-to-post you're alternating now between saying the new Survivor album will happen and you're excited about it, and then saying Frankie never said a new Survivor album was coming so it;s terrific he;s a producer now.

Wait a minute. You can rip Frankie for many things but don't rip his producing abilities. You know damn well this man has serious talent.

Wake me up when the new Survivor album is out. If it's w/in a year of the Mecca album he's producing then I'll say, "Good I'm pumped. He did what Mick Jones did."

Wake me up when McSurvivor is out (my guess is somebody should have a caddle prod ready, though).

Going back to what Joe Vana said. Frankie doesn't produce product. Mr. Sullivan produces art. I'm sure when Survivor puts out an album you will be more than pleased.

I want rock music from a great rock band not art.

By the way, I thought nothing was promised anyway.

Nothing was promised if you read the press release from last year. Having said that, I want the best effort from one of the best in rock n' roll. Simple as that. I was somewhat disappointed in REACH.

Well then wrong band my man.....

There are alot of other bands you can write about then that put out "rock albums" every year....this is not your band apparently....

Frankie could NEVER put out a NEW Survivor album EVERY year...if you actually knew what went into making one then you might understand...I have sat here and read this shite for weeks....to berate a guy because he doesn't put out albums quick enough....jeesh....

It's also like critisizing a certain pizza while not actually knowing how to make one even though you eat them....

By the way....I still want art....

Amen. By the way Joe I enjoyed the newspaper article about how the internet is effecting the music scene. I hope you are right that the best bands will rise to the top again. I was also amazed that you are able to connect with so many great musicians without actually meeting them. Anyway can't wait for Mecca 2. Thanks for stopping by here.

Not berating anybody, just saying Frankie blows more smoke than most active volcanos.

The Unites States still hasn't seen a Survivor album since 1988.

Has anyone ever seen "Joe Vana" and Slander in the same place, btw?

Slander...YES...I of course met ALL the guys I have worked with....BUT, a few I met on the internet...thats all....you can't do anything this intense purely over the wires....

It was a nice article....and I do hope the industry turns around....but it will take time until people decide that they are fed up with crap, and the same ole same ole.....

Hello everyone!

I just stopped by Marty's house and he showed me this board. I have been on the notice board many times and posted but not this particular part of the mr.com site. I think this is a good way for us fans to voice our opinions on our favorite bands and there current progress.

I don't know how to "quote" so I hope this works!!!!! JV stated he has read this site for WEEKS, yet he just stopped by CM's house on the 6th and saw this board then how have you been reading the "berating" for weeks? Just wondering?!?

Again with the quote thing, I need someone to teach me!!! Below you will find just a few "press releases" where FS mentions a new album in 2007.. Just a few. You have lost your mind if think that FS didn't approve these press releases and the use of his name, just like the swift action taken when the "Survivor" name was used to promote the up and coming concernt.

Guys the press release says they "hope" to release a new album in 2007 not that they will! Selective reading. This is old territory. I don't know why we are going here.

Why we're going here is he said he "hoped" Reach would be ready in '00, '01, '02, '03 promised it would be ready in '04 in the Ultimates liner notes and hoped again in '05.

With that hopeful timetable to go on, the debut McSurvivor record would drop in 2012 6 years after he said he hoped it would be out.

I for one believe one will be out spring-summer of 2008. Regardless I don't understand the downright anger over the entire issue. It seems disproportional.

When I remember right they said in the press release that they "hope" to release an Album in 2007. For me it doesn´t sound like a promise. Frankly spoken I expect it also more in 2008.

But I also have in mind the old "promises" from Frankie not only for 2000, 2001, 2002..... Same thing was in the 90´s.

Anyway, if it is good I can wait (but please not so long like before and please not something like "Reach").
