The Jimi Jamison song "Never Surrender" was intended to be in the movie "Rocky V" but sadly it was not included in the movie or on the soundtrack.

I believe that Jamison also had a song called "How Can This Heart Survive" that was also considered for "Rocky V" but wasn't included.

They stupidly loaded the film with rap, or as I call it crap.

I would love to get to hear those two Jamison songs sometime!!!

Isn´t "never Surrender" an old demo and it was a fan-project to include in the movie? I read also in the fireworks magazine something about a new song of Jimi which he sent to the producers of Rocky V. So that could be "How Can This Heart Survive".

Absoultely criminal.

Stallone really "jumped the shark" at that point not including the Jamison tracks in R5. Then he has Elton John??? Sing the end theme? WTF.

Same with RBalboa, THAT movie should've had Fire Makes Steel in it.

Red...I like FMS...but I don't think it fit in RB...

I was a throwback 70's style barebones Rocky I type deal...that is what made it good, the fact it deneyed itself of the excess of the '80's stuff that were in III and IV...Survivor was a part of that...

I know that in hindsight FMS did not fit the pattern of RB. We realize now he made a bookend to 1 and to a lesser extent II neither of which like 3-5 had the rock (rap? ) music soundtracks in and/or at the end credits of the movie.

I can appreciate that.

However, having the classic Rocky score at the beginning, middle and then END credits of the movie....MMMmmmmm NOT necessary, we get the point. The end credits should've been FMS or if you NEED to trot the theme out ONECE MORE, fine. Cut it off after 90 seconds and que FMS or even Reach. That would've been great to hear along with the shots of regular people running up the Art Museum steps that he had.

I watched Rocky Balboa tonight and was expecting to hear Survivor. I enjoyed the movie but was disappointed with the music.

GREAT feel good flick, innit :) ?

But yea, great as the Rocky score/theme is, to REALLY bring the series full circle would've been to give a nod to Survivor who was also a huge part of the series.

What a movie, though.

Still love it.

I've been a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE ROCKY FAN since about 1979 when I was 7 years old.

In fact thats how I first got into Survivor when I first saw Rocky III the day it came out in theaters and I heard the Eye Of The Tiger.

I was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED with all of the rap/crap that was in Rocky V instead of the two Jamison songs that were considered for the film.

I thought that at least in Rocky Balboa that FMS and maybe even Reach would be in the film, and I was very dissapointed that they weren't.

I think Stallone should have added another workout sequence that could have included the song FMS.

I'm very happy with Rocky Balboa with the exception of the lack of FMS or Reach.

It would be great if Stallone would include a Survivor song in Rambo IV, but I highly doubt that he will.

I thought Reach would have worked great at the end of Rocky Balboa and to my mind would have made a great film greater adding to the tone and nostalgic feel of the film whilst giving out a positive message as the credits rolled.

Come to think about it I might make my own edit of the film and add it in just for sh!ts and giggles!

I got into Survivor after hearing Eye on the radio. Not much into music then  till I heard that riff. Not into movies that time either so I didn't know the tune was from a movie. Survivor is the first band I ever got into due to this. No connection with Rocky for me. Diverse we all are aren't we ?

Rocky III was a good one no doubt and but to me the song Eye made the movie. 8)

I was ten years old when Rocky III came out. I started listening to the radio at about 8 years old and I liked a couple of Journey and Foreigner songs especially, but I wasn't big into any band yet at that time.

When I first heard EOTT at the beggining of Rocky III the riff immediataley caught my attention, then Dave Bickler's voice also caught my attention. After that I was always listening to the radio as much as I could so I could hear it again. I eventually taped it off the radio.

I remember when Survivor were on Solid Gold performing EOTT, I was so anxious to see/hear that. Unfortunately that was a few months before my parents bought our first VCR, so I wasn't able to tape it. It was after Vital Signs came out that I became a diehard Survivor fan.

I have never been more excited for a new album than I was when Too Hot To Sleep was going to be coming out.

The most excited I've ever been to see a concert was when I saw Survivor on the When Seconds Count tour.

Excellent! Nice to know this. Lucky on the WSC tour. The closest I got to Survivor was seeing VH with Hagar at the Blaisdell arena in Oahu.

Similarities in some ways with my experience as well. Yep, since then I too got so much into radio after Eye, especially waiting and waiting to record the Eye on tape. But after hearing it once, they kept playing Eye...in the Sky! Till I wasn't on hand to do it when Eye came on again.

Amazing, after VS, became a die hard myself. Then it got worse. Heard of Premonition 4 years later and then became a Survivor fanatic. 8)

One trivial thing is that I remember liking Another One Bites the dust . And wouldn't you know it, AOBTD seems to have a story in itself as far as Eye is concerned and Rocky combined. The plodding bass and drums, probably was part of the charm.

BTW, hope you can answer my Ellis q .

I've tried to download a couple of things from that site before without luck.

I wanted the song that he first recorded for Baywatch before he recorded "I'm Always Here" but I couldn't download it.

I just noticed an error that is short changing him on his myspace page, it says that he is the lead vocalist of 3 top 10 hit's, he's actually the lead vocalist on 4 top 10 hits, Burning Heart #2, The Search Is Over #4, High On You #8, and Is This Love #9 on the Billboard Chart. Then I Can't Hold Back #13 on the chart.

No, I haven't seen it yet, in fact I didn't even know that it was on the net already.

Every time I check IMDB for updates on Rambo IV there isn't much info.

Which site/s have the Rambo IV trailer?

Are they still gonna call it "The Pearl Of The Cobra?"
