Survivor - "Christmas is here"

Postby bomes » Wed Dec 05, 2007 3:59 am

There's a christmas song from Survivor called "Christmas is here". The song is on the compilation "A Classic Rock Christmas".
The release date of the record is 2002.

You can hear a short music preview and read reviews at amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QR ... =dm_sp_alb

Has someone more information about this song? Who has written this track?

Frankie wrote and produced it. The line-up:Sullivan, Jamison, Droubay, Ozello & Grove. Not a bad album as you get it a song from Styx, REO Speedwagon, John Waite, Survivor & Shaw/Blades that are (to my knowledge) exclusive to the CD. With the exception of Shaw/Blades "12 days of Christmas", the groups mentioned wrote their own Christmas themed songs.

I really like the song...bought it off Itunes last year...was hard to find, as you have to find the album...the artist (Survivor) was not listed, so a simple search of Survivor will not find the song...

Are you sure Frankie wrote it? Could swear I heard it somewhere before (like an old christmas folksong), but definately I'm not sure.

Had to pull out the CD to double check. According to the front insert, Frankie is the writer. The song has a 2002 copyright.

Yes Frankie is responsible.

i think it's a good song...and JJ does a good job on it as well...it might be the one song i think he was better for than dave...there is also a christmas song on the bonus version of JJ's empires album called "keep it evergreen'....i think that's the name...and it's not bad either...

Slander, i'm curious, what do you think of empires? I mean the name of the band aside...my copy says Jimi Jamison, so that's okay...I know it's NOT a survivor album...and never was...

YOu all know i'm a Dave guy to the bone, but to be honest I like listening to Empires, and that's big as you know i wanted to hate it...I think it was good work...I don't think it is as good as the FMS demos, but i think it's better (or at least the song content) than Reach...

Eye you might be surprised to know that I think Empires is terrific. Clearly JJ took his time on this effort and surrounded himself with good musicians. To be honest Eye he had to. His first solo effort I think it's safe to say was "weak." It's funny you mention REACH. I listened to it from start to finish the other day for the first time in months and was surprised by how FRESH it sounds. Having said that I do think Empires has catchier tunes. I'm thinking of starting a thread called REACH REVISITED where we all give the album a second look. What do you think?
