The guy can sing for damn sure!

His band does covers of Survivor, Journey, Boston and a ton of other melodic Rock/AOR bands songs.

cool beans! I was not aware. I don't go to the Journey board, I'd get lost. I've been super busy too, just had some surfing time Friday and found those videos. How awesome that would be if they did get him. Steve Perry would be better of course but this guy would be a great replacement.

I've played these clips for a few people and they all thought it was Journey. The first time I saw them I thought he must be lip syncing. He certainly sounds like Perry.

I am been watching the developments on this guy a bit. I doubt he'll get the part, but he sure can belt it out, he's got powerful vocals for sure. He also writes so, he's got some value to him. If Journey do take this guy, I think the band will be BIG is Asia more than America and that's a GOOD thing. He sure can do Jimi stuff but not sure about Dave's. :lol:

Its just been all but officially confirmed that Arnel IS the new lead singer for Journey. He is amazing on the Survivor covers for sure.

I said it on that wacky Journey message board (man those guys are mean jeezzz) that I love his voice I noticed a couple fuck-ups on ESTWB and a couple of others but he's really a great singer from all i can tell. I am very excited if he's the one..the other dude...the cover singer Jeremy or whatever his name was no way! that kid wasn't good enough. NOT HARDLY!

This kid's got the goods, he seems personable and I love his singing..what a voice!!

Geez. So much for my perception skills. Well....Arnel seems to be the guy and I am very happy for him. He's got the pipes and dare I say probably has more power sonically than Steve Perry at this stage. Frankly I hope he'll do some originals and write with Neal/Jonathan. Who's knows might be magic there. I think he just needs a bit more variety in his voice to perform with Journey founders and keep the flag flying without bringing down the quality that Journey is known for.

That said, No one, I mean NO ONE can do Dave Bickler.

Hey Marrrrrrrtay. Yes, they are very mean on the Journey board, that's why I don't go there. I think Arnel needs some work on his words but his voice is awesome! I wish him best of luck!!

I think its great that an Asian singer takes lead vocals. The world seems to be moving that direction (economically that is). :lol:
