Try and bootleg the show, Eye.

What's It Gonna Take? is kicking a fair amount of my ass right now. I can see that going down a STORM live, too.

MÖTLEY CRÜE's 'Saints Of Los Angeles' Headed For U.S. Top 5 Debut - June 25, 2008

According to Hits Daily Double (the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS), MÖTLEY CRÜE's new album, "Saints of Los Angeles", is poised to sell around 90,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release for a likely Top 4 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.

This week's #1 album, COLDPLAY's "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" will spend yet another week at the top of the sales chart, followed by Cash Money/Universal Republic rap icon LIL WAYNE's blockbuster "Tha Carter III" and Disney's "Camp Rock" soundtrack, featuring the JONAS BROTHERS.

"Saints of Los Angeles" is MÖTLEY CRÜE's first studio album since 2000's "New Tattoo", which has sold a little over 200,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The band's last studio effort with all of its original members was 1997's "Generation Swine", which debuted and peaked at No. 4 on The Billboard 200, and has sold more than 300,000 units.

"Saints of Los Angeles" is loosely based on the band's memoir, "The Dirt", which was published in 2001.

MÖTLEY CRÜE performed the title track of its new album, "Saints of Los Angeles", on last night's (Tuesday, June 24) edition of CBS' "The Late Show with David Letterman". Check out video footage below.

Photos of the performance, which was taped yesterday afternoon at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City, can be found on the Wire Image web site.

MÖTLEY CRÜE played its first show in a year Sunday night (June 22) when it headlined the second day of the Heavy MTL festival in front of 22,500 fans at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The guys from SIXX A.M. are all over the writing from what I have heard about it.

So Red, did you ever give SIXX A.M. a chance. Sounds like this CD and that one sound similar at times.

(I have not heard anything from the CRUE CD yet, just repeating and hypothesizing based on things I have read.)

Hey Eye isn't this like 3 times what reach sold over it's entire release? And they played for 22,500 people? Well that's a nice start...I mean it's no Dancing with the Stars and all,but still a nice start. Of course survivor will be lucky to play for that many total this summer.

What a moronic statement since Survivor was never on Motley Crue's par in terms of popularity.

Yes Axe, I'm sure it will probably sell 10 times more than Reach.

To be honest it's 100 times better than Reach...but what isn't.

At any rate, it probably helps that you can acutally buy it in the U.S.

I remember that Reach was available ton itunes for about two days...

what would be good would be an EYE OF THE TIGER special edition cd! its something that most bands do these days. would be great to hear the album all polished up and bursting through the speakers as well as some demos or bonus songs that didn't make the album, maybe ever throw in a few live tracks from the 1982 tour as well. and the icing on the cake...some liner notes from FS, JP and DB about each song. my mouth is watering just now :P

You are dreaming my man...'most bands' as you say aren't tied down by Frankie Sullivan. When JP walked away, the chance of much ever happening with Survivor went out the window. If JP had retained the name, I would imagine that there would be a lot more out there.

You can however, grab a copy of the Ultimates CD from a few years ago. It has one 'unreleased' track on it and two or three pics and some notes inside. Probably the best that you are going to ge

I can still dream, though.

Frankie-Jim was still one of the top 10 songwriting tandems of any generation.

They were. They aren't nearly as talented apart. Real magic happens when those two collaborate.

Eye. Reach is very easy to get and inexpensive too. Are you really comparing Crue with Survivor. You can't do it now just as you couldn't do it back in 1986. I love Survivor but they were never a headliner. Actually REACH sold pretty well for an album released on Frontiers records. I think JP's solo effort sold something like just 5K.

I agree 7...imo one of the best songwriting duos of all time. Not gonna put them in the Lennon/McCartney group but still very good. There was a certain magic that they had together and I've told Jim that before.....he agrees.

But one has to remember that outside of survivor Jim is revered as one of the best songwriters ever and rightfully so, you don't co-write as many #1 's as he has without being good. Not to mention the laundry list of people past and present that wants to write with him.
