Just saw this...

I found this on Wikipedia...first i had heard of the money issues, but sounds a lot like JJ's claims as well...

Bickler left the band in late 1983 after he developed polyps on his vocal cords and required surgery and voice rest, a condition that would take a year and a half to recuperate from. Bickler was also unhappy about his lack of a bigger payday he felt was owed him for the multiplatinum success the band had from their hit album Eye Of The Tiger released a year earlier. After leaving Survivor, Bickler continued recording with other groups in the Chicago area and doing commercial jingles and ads.

Interesting. Now, don't tell both JP and FS were in on it?

JP and FS wrote all the material so 90 pecent of the payday went to them.....it is unfortunate sometimes, but in music it is 99.9999% of the issue with bands that ALL the guys do not write....the writers drive porsches and the singers drive chevys.....unless you are a singer that writes your own material :-)

And then there is the split issue....it all depends what each guy thinks is fair....or what the one can screw the other on like in some bands....man, this business does suck!!!!

JV, I would think this would lead to situations where singers would see this and do all they can to get in on the writing process (even if they were not really that talented at it)....does this often happen? I mean, that's what I would do...
