Premonition album

Postby Tito » Sat Aug 30, 2008 2:13 am

As we continue to discuss the first album, let's also put our 2 cents on the follow up, Premonition. This is another very good album where you don't have to skip any songs. This is the first album with would be longtime members Stephan Ellis and Marc Droubay. It starts out with the a good old time rock song, Chevy Nights. Summer Nights is any Survivor fan's instant classic and Poor Man's Son was their first hit. The other big favorite of mine is Take You On a Saturday. I owned the 45 of Eye Of The Tiger. I flipped that record over to play the b side - Take You On A Saturday. I actually liked that song more the EOTT. I could go on and on about this one. This album rocks, not a bad song. This is one of my favorite Survivor albums. I truly like all the songs on this album.

Agree no skipping here ... More like that "repeat" button! 8)

Mine also....bought it the day after I heard Jim and frankie on WLS am here in Chicago. They were there that night in the studio talking and playing the album. First song I heard was Summer Nights and loved it.
My opinion is this is the best album they did.

In my opinion Premonition may be Survivor's best album. It is the band at its core. From the songwriting to that magical sheen Frankie puts on the tunes! A classic. Everyone at the top of their game. I ask you: Is there are better song than
"Runway Lights"? F-ing incredible.

Great album, Chevy Nights, Summer Nights, Runaway Lights, Poor Man's Son (of course) etc etc. Summer Nights is lyrically one of the best in the Survivor canon. I really love the mood of the song - it perfectly fits that autumn time for any of us who have ever had a great summer fling end on account of going away to school or whatever else. This song should get more love! Talking lyrical theme, it's almost like a song written for the 50s or 60s with an 80s luster to it. Gonna go listen now.
