I was just thinking yesterday morning that if there was an 80's week, that anyone BUT Scott should sing Search is Over.. love was right before my eyes.... then lo and behold Scott brings in the irony. That song could have been done well with only a keyboard and lots of falsetto, like Adam did with his song. It's sad that Scott didn't really belt the high notes like Jimi, but what really annoyed me was when Simon proclaimed that was a "horrid song". How disrespectful to our songwriters. That is one of their best songs IMO, and very fitting for Idol.

I agree with you there. Simon just blurts out without thinking, kinda like Paula To bad he got voted off. He was very talented just a bad song choice for him. Actually though I thought he did better the second time until it came to the high parts.

I caught it last night at the end where he was about to get eliminated. I thought it was weird when he said, "I'll have to watch the tape." How can he?

That is my favorite Survivor song, but I am with Simon on this. I didn't see until the youtube clip. If I was sitting there and heard this song I would think it was horrid. The arrangement and instrumentation was god awful and the singing was not great either.
