But not to get people mad, I don't think a corny disaster like 'rock was king' would ever appear in a FS 'project', at the same time, we get twice as much from JP and don't have to be as picky...

Yes.....I agree, FS would have never been involved with When Rock was King...yikes...and....people on youtube thought they did the tune as a joke, yet they were serious.....I like CM....but that tune?? Holy Crap....

I get the impression that song was done with tounge firmly planted in cheek. There was no intention of that being the next I Can't Hold Back serious anthem, where is the interview where they said it was anything but a fun goof song?

Also, Slander and Axe must have more in common than a mutual respect for eachother, seems they have the same computer repair man as well since I am waiting for examples from Slander where Axecrew falsely quoted people.

He falsely said I made certain statements that were never made. In particular in regards to Andrew, Jim Peterik, and MR board. That's it.

JoePa...Here is a quote from Axe:

"I'm tired of a wanna be telling me how smart he is and dumb I am. Not to mention the cute little subtle swipes at Jim, Jimi and you, I don't care how much or often he soft sells it or backpeddles"

I've never made swipes at JP or Andrew. Damn right I have made comments on Jimi. I hated the interview he gave and have said so many times. I want to know the swipes at Andrew and JP? That's all I'm asking. I've praised both of them time and time again. Damn I buy everything JP puts out sans the Jazz album! I've said many times Survivor isn't the same witihout JP and JP isn't the same with FS. This topic is done.

As far as When Rock Was King. I think think the song is fun. I like Crossroads Moment very much. Having said that if Rock Was King was meant to be tongue and cheek it is out of place in what I consider a very reflective and mature album by JIMI. I would have preferred When Rock Was King as a single. I also hated the video.

Even Andrew, who hardly EVER reads hidden meanings into posts, knew you were bashing his board with with your snerky "you give this board way too much credit for having a following."

The Survivor Board specifically! Not the MR Board as a whole. Quit manufacturing controversy. Others have also commented on this particular bb's lack of activity. Gimme a break red.

And still unable to give specific examples. If I were that pissed off about something, I'd be able to quote specific examples while demanding my apology.
If someone did me wrong enough to complain about it on a messege board, I'd be sure enough to back up my rage with accurate facts and or quotes.

Why are we even talking about another board on this one? Am I to infer that your comment of " You give this board way too much credit for having a following." was actually about the other board and not this one. That is what you are saying correct, based on your comments in the post quoted right?

Dude WTF planet are you on? You implied that I made swipes at Andrew and JP earlier in this thread. You did it not me. Read your earlier posts. Crap I even quoted what you wrote to Red. End of discussion. Secondly my comment was about this particular survivor board having not much of a following not the official survivor bb. I'm not the only one who has said that in the past. I'll leave arguing over minutia to you and Red. Knock yourselves out. In the meantime can't wait for the New SURVIVOR!

It's going to happen! In the meantime RED, while I like Crossroads Moment very much do you agree that When Rock Was King seems a little out of place on the album as a whole? I am one of the few things it's fun and catchy as hell but doesn't fit the album.

Don't have the album yet but seems way out of place given all the samples I've heard.

Actually Red...I kind of like the song. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is pay homege to all those '80's bands. The only quirk to this one is it has the actual singers singing on the song.

Right, and I certainly don't DISlike it, any more than I think Jamison and Peterik MEANT it to be taken seriously.

It's just very, very cheesy...maybe if i had not watched the video...JP can be a little over the top for me at times, but at the same time that's 50 percent of what made some of my favorite music of all time!

Not exactly sure what you are trying to say here....
Are you saying you never took swipes at Jim and Andrew? Are you saying that you just never did it in this thread?

Please bear in mind that you are also the one who said you hadn't taken swipes at Jimi....that is until I gave you examples of where you had, you've since dropped Jimi's name from it.

As to your comments about this board......just because someone else has said something it doesn't make it any more right. That's pure cowardice to hide behind that statement and say" Well they said it too.". This board is the 4th or 5th most popular one on here.

Again please make yourself more clear regarding the other stuff I mentioned.

I am so sorry to hear about Slander's dad. That is awful.

I haven't been around here for a bit, but I bought CM before it dropped in North America... got it from Russia for gods sakes, a few months back. It's been in my car stereo ever since. I listen to it constantly, and never seem to tire of it.

I even like "When Rock Was King" even though I agree, it's STINKY FROMAGE but we Canucks like our fromage, and it is what it is and doesn't apologize for it.

My hands down favourite track is "She's Nothing to Me" but I love Battersea, Can't Look Away, Behind the Music, and That's Why I Sing. The CD I got did not include "Alive" and I'm wondering if that is the same song Peterik wrote ages ago that Van Zant recorded. Can someone email me the MP3 to montyollie at gmail dot com? I'd love you forever if you did. HA!

So yeah, Jimi's voice sounds great and I think the album is a BIG BIG BIG thumbs up. But then when it comes to Jimi, I'm hard to disappoint. I even loved Reach. LOL

Slander,

Very sorry to hear of your father's passing. Will put you and our family, friends in my prayer's...wish there were some magical words to comfort you, but at times like this, there just aren't any, none that worked for me anyways....17 years later I still cry over my mother, she died at 56...I'll be 52 this summer and can't imagine being done in four years.

(((Big Hugs 2 you)))

Peace~

p.s.
Thanks JV for letting us know and you are right, why Kevin hasn't gotten to where he needs to be with that fantastic voice is STILL a mystery to me...the man can really, really sing...nice guy too.

Cheryl Ann thank you so much for the kind words. Everyone on the board has been very supportive and I can't tell you how much that has meant to me. I have my good days and bad days but I know he is in a much better place. It was hard to see him battle mesothelioma. He was very brave. Thank you again and I will never forget how supportive everyone has been on this board. You are all terrific people.
