Sounds like he only sang about half that song....and avoided the high notes every time with audience participation.

I *think* he sounded good singing there!!! Wish he sang more though so we could tell. Band sounded tight - Frankie looked in good form.

Yea he did....I have seen him doing the whole tune with NO problems, and his pitch was dead on....have no idea why he was "gun shy" that night....

I have seen Jamo and a lot of other guys do this a ton over the past few years......it irks me when dudes do that...BUT, if the fans feel they getting their moneys worth than who am I or anybody else to say they shouldn't let the audience "help" out a bit....

I have been trying to keep an open mind about singing live lately....I realize how hard and demanding it is, and these guys arent getting any younger...in the lower registers JJ sounds great, maybe the shows with Chalfant will have legs, let Kev take the higher stuff as he is just as strong as he was 20 years ago.......f'n amazing...that dude is crazy about taking care of his axe....I spent ALOT of time with Kevin over a 5 year period and he ALWAYS took care of his voice....he really is amazing...and in the studio he is DEAD on....

I don't know.......maybe make the audience feel like part of the show? Chalfant did the same thing on saturday and I can guarantee it wasn't due to "problems". As you said Joe...Kevin's voice is still as great as it ever has been.

Joe......To answer a previous question....Kevin did 3 songs, then Jimi did 3 then Kevin then Jimi again. For the survivor purist.....Jimi did one song from his new album that being the title cut "Crossroads Moment". The rest was what you'd expect with one surprise thrown in....he did "It's The Singer Not The Song". After it he said that was the first time he'd done it 5 years. Said he guessed he was going to have to keep doing it now. It came off very well.

Guys, don't fool yourself. For me this band died since TOO HOT and there is no way back. Just remember the better times and keep it that way.

Zzzzz. There's plenty of older guys that still sound amazing - Dennis DeYoung, Daryl Hall, Glenn Hughes, Graham Nash, Bill Champlin, Tommy Shaw... plenty of others

I HATE when singers ape the melody to avoid high notes. Changing the melody up for artistic purposes, ala soul singers and good adlibbers, is cool, but not to hide vocal shortcomings, at least not night to night. Given the choice between downtuning to keep the melody intact and playing in the original key but dodging notes, I'll take the former every time.

Band sounded good and tight but McAuley sounds the same as he has always sounded, terrible.
Love Survivor, always have but wish they would drop this guy like a brick and quick.

He just sounds so much like a cross between jack russell and Kevin DeBrow (GOD REST IS ROCK AND ROLL SOUL!)

Still, maybe with some new material it will be different. I mean, I LOVE Sammy Hagar with Van Halen, but if I had of had to judge him off live boots and u-tube sining DLR material, maybe not such much.

Well, i'm trying to be glass half full here!

Well they should get their asses over to the UK for once in their lives.
Numerous promoters have attempted to get them over here, but Sullivan is so far up his own ass by thinking the band are so humongously big, that they are asking for ridiculous amounts of money.
Would dearly love to see the band live, and no doubt a lot of other people in the UK would, but i don't see it happening, not until they (Sullivan) realise that they aint huge. Not that they ever were.

Nah... Daryl Hall and Dennis DeYoung are both about the same age as Bill (I THINK anyway) and Graham Nash is at least 4, 5 years older than all of them. But they all still bring it, for the most part, night to night and in the studio!
