I would totally agree with that when he was touring under the Survivor name, but now that he's just touring as Jimi Jamison, I don't think it's so essential. There are enough JJ Survivor hits for him to perform.
Unless he wants to always be known as "the guy who used to be in Survivor," I think he should try to balance his shows a bit better. There are a LOT of good, solid songs on Crossroads Moment, and what better way to get them some recognition than to play them to a captive audience who already loves your voice? My guess is that pretty much anyone who likes what JJ did with Survivor will also like what he did on CM.
In a 13 song setlist, he should do at LEAST 4 or 5 from CM.
He also has some good songs on his previous albums. He could easily do 2 from "Empires," and 1 from "When Love Comes Down" (when I saw him many years ago, he did "Rock Hard" from that album, and it went over quite well.)
So that covers about 8 of 13 songs. To keep the Survivor fans happy, throw in "Didn't Know It Was Love," "The Search Is Over," "High on You," "Can't Hold Back" and end the show with "Burning Heart." (maybe "Rebel Son" could be thrown in there too somewhere.)
Then he'd have a set list that focuses on his current career while still appealing to the people who just want to hear stuff from his Survivor days.
