I bet JP and JJ are better at wishing people "happy holidays" than Frankie is, though.

I was listening to my Christmas play list last night and Survivor's "Christmas is Here" came on...I actually really like the song...

I'm not that much on contemporary Christmas, but Bryan Adam's "Christmas Time" is a classic if you ask me...

Any of you have favorites?

JJ's Christmas song is not bad either actually...

I never even knew Survivor recorded a Christmas song. Any idea how I could get ahold of it?

JJ's "Keep It Evergreen" is nice, though, to be honest, I tend to forget about it. I guess because it's not on a Christmas album, so when Christmas comes along, I never think to dig out "Empires" just to listen to that one track.

I'm a TSO fan, and of their music, I love their rendition of "O Come All Ye Faithful / O Holy Night" from "Christmas Eve & Other Stories." For quieter moments, I also really like "Old City Bar."
And while it's probably dorky to admit it, I'm also a Mannheim Steamroller fan. Go ahead and laugh, but they were a huge influence on my own song writing.

David,

It's on I-tunes...you have to search it by name "Christmas is Here" ...It's on a compilation album and for some reason the artist is not listed...

To make sure preview it, but you'll know right away if you have the right thing with JJ's voice....It's also a true Survivor tune written by FS...

The album cover has a red guitar on it, If i recall right...

It's a pretty good song. Very nicely done, production wise as well.

That's one of the things that helps Peterik and Jamison in the fans eye's, and hurts Sullivan in the fans eye's.
In general, Peterik and Sullivan are almost always friendly with the fans after shows, and from the many, many shows that I've been to, Sullivan is not usually very friendly with fans.

If Sullivan would be friendlier with fans, and would be more truthful with fans, then he'd win over more fans.

You'd think that a Happy Holidays thread could keep positive and not drudge up old stuff. Just post the following to this thread and move on. Sheesh

Post: Happy Holidays to all members of Survivor, past and present, and to all my friends here on MelodicRock!

Nonsense. Wow love the holiday spirit. Even in a nice thread we have to take shots.

Slander,

You won't find anyone who's a bigger fan of Frankie's guitar playing than me. I also love his song writing and talent as a producer.

I wasn't saying that as a slam on Frankie. I was just making an observation based on what I've personally witnessed at the 20 plus shows I've seen him at. For the sake of keeping the thread civil I won't go into some of the things I've seen/heard him say or do with some fans at shows. But from what I've seen he isn't nearly as friendly with fans in general as Peterik and Jamison are. I'm not saying that to insult him, just pointing out that if he was nicer to fans than he generally seems to be that he would win over more fans.

I was able to get a copy of this song. It's not bad. I think I slightly prefer "Keep It Evergreen" from JJ's "Empires" album, but both are good. I should make myself a mix CD with both of these songs and a few others. Another song that's grown on me is Faith Hill's version of "Where Are You Christmas?"

No, no, no... you got it wrong. The reindeer ran over Grandma, and when the reporters asked Grandma about it, she said, "I'm just really thankful I survived." Frankie heard that, and is now suing Grandma for using the word "survived" since it's a clear infringement on the Survivor trademark.

Damn.....and I thought that Frankie had suggested to grandma that he knew a great lawyer and that she'd be sure to win any suit against the reindeer. I thought I heard he told her to sue because that reindeer was owned and being driven by a large man in a red suit and frankie said...and I quote...."He has more money than even I do.". THEN when grandma said she was just glad to be a survivor...THEN frankie sued her for copyright infringement.

No, No, No...

You see...Jim Peterik had been drinking too much egg nog and frankie begged him not to go....but Jim forgot his acoustic guitar and he wondered out the door into the snow...

When they found him the next morning...at the seen of the attack, he had pending litigation and a copy right infringement stapled to his back...

Survivor's not the same with out JP....
the lead singer's is so poor...
Although he would be really perfect,
To sing lead on the Quite Riot reunion tour...

Now we are all so proud of Frankie,
He's been taking it so well,
See him in there planning lawsuits,
Writing blogs and making shit up oh so well,

It's not Survivor without Jim and Davey.
The lead singer wears a chain.
And we just can't help but wonder:
If those who think there will be new music are insane...

Jim P got run over by a lawsuit
Hanging out at Frankie's Christmas eve,
You can say that Frankie's not really sue happy,
But as for Jim, CBS and Andrew they don't agree,

Now there's a new project on the table
And Frankie claims it has a 'home'
And the fans we are all waiting,
But (after eight months) we have yet to hear one fucking song!

Jim P got run over by a lawsuit
Hanging out at Frankie's Christmas eve,
You can say that Frankie's not really sue happy,
But as for Jim, CBS and Andrew they don't agree...
