A Breather From Previous Threads

So, I wanted to try to revitalize this board as well as try to get off topic of FS's blog..

Let's play a game to help reduce the stress of waiting on something to happen..

RULES:
If Frankie was to sell the name of Survivor and the current lineup disbanded then who would you choose to stay in the band (1 member) and who is your "dream team" lineup. Your lineup can be any singer/writer, guitarist..etc.. from any still living artist within the same genre of the band. Meaning you can choose anyone from glam rock, 80's music, AOR..etc..

What is your dream lineup, why did you choose the person (s) and what could they bring with them as an artist to Survivor?

This should be very interesting....

My choice:
Keep Marc or Frankie if wanted to still be in the band, add Joe L. Turner as vocalist, add JP and Stan Meissner from the old Metropolis band as songwriter, Van Halen as guitarist.. add anyone else who can "bring it"..lol

Well, I'd still want it to resemble Survivor, so I'll go with something a little more obvious:
Sell the name to Jim Peterik, and get Jamison back on vocals (JP worked really well with JJ on Crossroads Moment, so why mess with a good thing?) Keep Marc on drums.
Get Al Pitrelli on guitar. They guy can do amazing solos and some of his solos aren't so far from what Frankie does, so it would keep that element of Survivor's sound intact, while still adding something new to it.
I'm kind of drawing a blank on bass players.

So the line-up would be:
Jim Peterik: keyboards / background vocals
Al Pitrelli: Guitar
Jim Jamison: vocals
Marc Droubay: Drums
+ a bassist

Dave Bickler - Vocalist
Jim Peterik - Keys and Guitar
Stephen Ellis - Bass
Marc D. - Drums
Brad Gillis - Guitar

(I would go with Frankie on guitar, if I could be assured he left his ego at the door...but...)

Unfortunately, right now his guitar is the "sound of silence."

If Frankie sold the name, I'm assuming I can't have him as my guitarist. Given that, here's my dream line up:

Vocals: Steve Perry (yes, I know. It's just a dream) - 2nd choice is Steve Morse
Guitars: Howard Leese - Based on their 80's albums, I think he could pull off the Frankie vibe
Keyboards - Dennis DeYoung (he'd be awesome back-up singer to boot)
Bass - Stephen Ellis
Drums - Neil Peart, what the hell. Who wouldn't want him in their band?
